Celebration in Florida is open to residents of all ages, yet mostly appeals to active adults thanks to its amazing collection of amenities.

Today’s younger retirees focus on the “active” component of an active adult community. They want low-maintenance homes and community amenities that meet their busy lifestyles. A location that offers plenty of nearby activities and attractions is also a big plus for young retirees, and for many, location is the driving force behind choosing a destination.

Young retirees looking to relocate to sunny Florida should consider some of the state’s fabulous age-targeted active adult communities. They offer many of the same activities and amenities as other resort-style 55+ communities, but without the age restrictions. There are many Florida active adult communities open to all ages, including the following six spectacular communities.

Villages of Citrus Hills
Set in Hernando, this central Florida resort-style community offers a dazzling array of amenities and activities. There are multiple spacious clubhouses and state-of-the-art fitness centers. There are restaurants, lounges, hobby and game rooms, sports courts, tennis facilities, three 18-hole championship golf courses and much more. Upon completion, the community will boast 10,000 residences including both maintenance-free detached villas and traditional single-family homes.

Lely Resort
With a prime location in beautiful Naples, Lely Resort Golf and Country Club sprawls over nearly 3,000 acres of Florida’s southwest coast. This active adult community offers a bit of everything including three 18-hole championship golf courses, spacious clubhouses, state-of-the-art fitness centers, sports courts, swimming pools, restaurants and even its own movie theater. The planned 4,506 residences within the community include both single-family homes and attached home varieties.

Celebration
Built by The Celebration Company (owned by Disney), its no surprise that this active adult community is set in close proximity to Disney World. Those who love visiting the amusement park will be thrilled to have such easy access, but the community offers many of its own on-site amenities as well. Just a few of these fabulous amenities include an 18-hole golf course, five outdoor swimming pools, sports courts, restaurants and a shopping center. The 4,060 residences are comprised of attached homes, condominiums and single-family homes.

Villagewalk at Lake Nona
Set on the southeast side of Orlando, this community enjoys a prime location within easy distance of central Florida’s amazing attractions. Nearby Orlando offers shopping, dining and several theme parks, including Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World and Busch Gardens. The community is also only 30 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and the Kennedy Space Station. Within the community, the Town Center offers resort-style amenities as well as services such as a post office, salon, gas station and pet-grooming center. The planned 1,300 residences will include townhomes, villas and single-family homes.

Vineyards
Located in the North Naples area, this beautiful 1,375-acre gated community provides many on-site amenities as well as a prestigious, vacation-style setting. A wide array of amenities are offered through the 70,000 square foot main clubhouse, and through smaller neighborhood clubhouses. The community boasts two 18-hole golf courses, multiple swimming pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, 12 Har-tru tennis courts, scenic lakes and a 32-acre community park. The 2,733 residences include attached homes, condominiums and single-family homes.

The Isles on Palmer Ranch
Sarasota is often considered one of Florida’s best cities for young retirees. Its central gulf coast location offers beautiful beaches and a wide variety of nearby shopping, dining and cultural attractions. With a planned total of 674 homes, The Isles on Palmer Ranch is a smaller community that still offers a spacious clubhouse, fitness center, sports courts and several community activities. Its lovely, affordable residences are available in carriage homes, single-family homes, townhomes and attached villas.
