We've enjoyed living here at Alegria for about 3 years now. It's been great! Our house hasn't given us any problems to speak of and we've been happy with the quality of the construction. Most of all we love being part of a real neighborhood. It's very private yet friendly and welcoming and it's well maintained and clean. The views are amazing too!

I recently bought a home in Alegria and am very happy to be living here. I looked at homes here a few years ago when Pulte was building but my family obligations would not let me make the move then. In August of 2016 I re-visited Alegria to see how the community was being maintained. I was favorably impressed. After meeting with Therese and Jim Wing and seeing the resales available, I was able to complete a purchase of a wonderful home.
I specifically chose Alegria because I was relocating from out of state, with no family or friends in this area. I wanted a community where I would feel safe and where there were activities that would help me meet others with similar interests. I have been here less than a month now but, without exception, everyone I encounter has been friendly and welcoming.
Alegria is located in the outskirts of Bernalillo and shopping and medical/dental are very conveniently located nearby.

From the time we started looking at a home in Alegria to the time we moved in everything was very professional and complete. Great job was done by all, both the Alegria staff and our real estate agent. Thanks to our sales staff for the job they have done and continue to do.

In the fall of 2011, we were on a weekend mini-vacation to Albuquerque and took a four hour self-guided tour of Alegria. We met many of the owners, toured the club house and gym, walked through the 9 model homes, and watched many of the daily activities. When we drove out I said to Mary, "what do you think?" . She answered "let's go back to Colorado Springs and put the house up for sale." We did, and moved to Alegria in June of 2012. Now we enjoy the daily walks through the bosque with our dog, many of the scheduled daily activities, and the many friends and neighbors we have already met. What a great fun place to live!!!

Living in NYC all my life, I didn't know what to expect when I moved into Alegria 3 months ago! It didn't take me long to find out. I have never felt more comfortable in a community as I do in Alegria. The residents are wonderful! From the minute I arrived, I never felt like a stranger! I have made more friends in 3 short months here than living in my community in NYC for 30 years. Alegria itself is great! The clubhouse, pools and activities are great and so are the people who work at Alegria. Adding to all this is the splender of NM! I absolutely love it here and ask myself ... why didn't I move here sooner!

Please don't let the recent review keep you from visiting Alegria to consider for your retirement home. We have lived in the Albuquerque area for 35 years, and specifically wanted to move to this area for the beauty, peace, and quiet. Alegria has spectacular views in a very private setting. We have a private entrance to the beautiful bosque which is a wildlife area that runs along the Rio Grande river with huge cottonwood trees. Mirehaven is in the far west area of Albuquerque with long distance views in a predominately older residences area and has much more of a desert feel. Yes, it has a nicer outdoor pool - but it's only open about 4 months during the year. Alegria has an indoor pool as well, with water volleyball and aqua classes year round.

Nice Del Webb community near Albuquerque that I have visited several times and I was considering moving there at one time. However, I changed my mind since the builder has had MANY complaints nationally on home quality issues, including the roofs at the community on these new and newer homes. Credit to Del Webb for inspecting and replacing roofs (where needed) and paying for the expenses. That was wise since they still have many lots to sell and it does NOT need bad public relations if it wants to sell the remaining lots. But I fear that there may be other problems in the future with these homes. Sure hope that does not happen.

I know some residents who live there and have talked to others when I visited and overall, I get positive feedback. Many nice social activities to choose from but there have been complaints that the clubhouse is too small for a community of this size. There has been talk of possibly expanding it someday but DW is not interested in doing that. Homes are built really close together and lots are not that big with small backyards. Great mountain views command premium prices on select lots.

Last time I checked, the HOA fees were $112 a month but that is bound to go up as time passes. No golf course but there are bocce ball courts and other recreational amenities.

Nine models to choose from at reasonable BASE prices but those prices go up with all the added expenses like upgrades, building options of homes, and possible premium lot fees.

There are stores nearby like Wal-Mart and the town of Bernalillo is a couple of miles away. For even more shopping and businesses, Rio Rancho is not that far away and Albuquerque is about 17 miles away.

I hope this info helps any person or couple considering a move to Alegria. Go there in person and check it out to see if this is the kind of place where you want to move to. Good luck to one and all!

We visited this community and found it to be very beautiful but the himes are dated. We ended up buying in Del Webb Mirehaven because the homes are absolutely beautiful, very open, newer amenities. The club house is much nicer and has amazing views. I've met many new friends and love all the activities.
