Sun City West is a 16,900-home community 2.5 miles west of the original Sun City Arizona. Del Webb constructed this community of attached and single-family homes between 1978 and 1997. Residents have access to the well-appointed recreation centers of Sun City West and activities that cater to homeowners wanting to stay physically and socially active. The community was designed to intertwine with a variety of retail stores and shopping centers. Most residents find that all of their shopping needs can be accomplished with a short trip down the golf-cart-legal streets.

Sun City West Amenities
Sun City West features a wide selection of amenities, including four recreation centers, seven golf courses, and nine restaurants. The largest activity center in Arizona, the R.H. Johnson Center is spread across 48 acres and includes six activity areas with 118,000 square feet of amenities under one roof. The Palm Ridge Center clubhouse in Sun City West has three pools including one outdoors and two indoors, plus a large fitness center, tennis courts, an indoor walking track, a ballroom, and clubrooms. The Beardsley Center features an Olympic-size indoor pool, a fitness center, club and meeting rooms, a mini-golf course, horseshoes, a greenhouse, and a park with shady picnic pavilions. Sun City West
Bought in 2019, & the Covid thing put a damper. Great facilities, great clubs, good variety of housing. We are close to many shopping and restaurant options. Wide streets, little traffic. Yes we have old people, but we are a retirement community.
Homeowner for several years. Disappointed on how the community spends through our money with poor decisions, redo’s and secrecy. Hang on to your wallet and do your research before you buy.
We have spent seven winters in West. Reasonable prices,solar panels and low taxes make it a star in senior living. The golf is low price and the opportunity to play all sports is unequal. Meeting people is as available as you want. The roads are wide and the lots are large and level. We even have a town with cart access. It is filled with eateries, doctors, dentists, and hardware stores. The people are great at volunteering. Its a little slice of heaven.
Great home prices, great neighbors, everything to do if you want to.
Like – Diversity of people and interesting things to do. Dislike-too many old people, need some young blood
