About Sunbird
Sunbird in Chandler, Arizona is an age-restricted community that welcomes homebuyers aged 55 and better. This community was designed by Robson Communities as a smaller and less expensive option to their nearby Sun Lakes community. The 1,631 homes in Sunbird provide residents with a more intimate, close-knit feel than some of the larger active adult communities in the area. Homebuyers can choose from reasonably priced single-family and manufactured homes in this gated golf course community. With over a dozen clubs, activities, and interests groups the social scene is always buzzing at Sunbird.
Sunbird Amenities
Sunbird offers a vast array of amenities in the 43,000 square-foot recreation center. The clubhouse includes a fitness center, outdoor pool, hobby studios, grand ballroom, library and computer lab. Additionally, there are horseshoe pits, tennis courts and shuffleboard courts on the grounds surrounding the clubhouse.
The 18-hole Sunbird Golf Course winds throughout the community. The 4,350-yard par-66 course designed by Gary Panks is ideal for adults who want a shorter, less strenuous course. Golfers looking for longer, championship courses will be pleased with the exciting selection of dozens of courses in the surrounding area. Memberships are sold to owners of residences in the Sunbird Community.

Robson Communities began construction of Sunbird in 1988 and in 1998 it was completed with 1,631 low-maintenance homes. Sunbird offers a variety of single-family ranch homes and reasonably priced manufactured homes. Homes in the community range from just over 900 square feet to 1,680 square feet with one to two bedrooms, one to two bathrooms, with either an attached garage or a carport. The low maintenance homes have minimal association fees making them an ideal choice for buyers who want a full or part-time residence.

A community activities director continually promotes a diverse lineup of fun activities, social clubs and events that provide residents the opportunity to lead a socially engaging and physically active lifestyle. This southern area of Chandler is ideally situated within 15 miles to countless museums, theaters, casinos and golf courses. The Chandler Fashion Center Mall, which offers hundreds of brand name stores, boutiques and great restaurants, is 10 miles away. Easy access to Phoenix and the surrounding area is accessible via the Santan Freeway five miles north or I-10 five miles west of Sunbird. Sunbird
We have rented in Sunbird for a couple of months the past four years. This year we found a wonderful home there and are thrilled with our new purchase. Sunbird is a lovely community with very welcoming people. It also has a multitude of activities and facilities. We hope to spend much more time there from now on during our normal Michigan cold weather months.
We have found Sunbird a great place to live. After living in the resort for several years we moved to a seaside community. We missed Sunbird and it’s activities so much that we recently bought another home here and are very happy to be back Home Again.
