Each year, more active adult communities open in popular destinations across the country. In 2015, several brand new communities will begin offering beautiful homes and plans for exciting social and recreational amenities. Here are some great communities to add to your watch list.
Set along Florida's Treasure Coast, Harmony Reserve will be a smaller gated community of just 397 homes. Residents will be able to choose from attached and single-family homes, featuring views of natural preserves and a wetland habitat. The community will also have a 15,000 square-foot clubhouse.
Upon completion, Esplanade at Highland Ranch will offer an amenity-rich clubhouse, outdoor recreational features and 475 single-family homes. This Taylor Morrison community is being designed for resort-style living, with an exciting line-up of classes, clubs and social activities.
Victory at Verrado's 35,000 square-foot clubhouse will provide all the indoor and outdoor amenities needed for an active retirement. Highlights include swimming pools, on-site dining and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The community is expected to one day include about 3,500 homes.
Built by AV Homes, Encore at Eastmark includes plans for 905 single-family homes, ranging in size from 1,300 to 3,205 square feet. The proposed clubhouse will feature many upscale amenities, including a fitness center, a cafe, sports courts and an outdoor swimming pool.
Creekside at Bethpage will be the first AV Homes community in the Raleigh area. This 650-home development is being designed with single-family homes sized from 1,000 to 2,900 square feet, as well as a 15,000 square-foot clubhouse with indoor and outdoor amenities.
As the first Del Webb community in the Albuquerque area, Del Webb at Mirehaven is expected to offer many resort-style activities. Preliminary plans include a 10,000 square-foot clubhouse with indoor and outdoor amenities. The community will also feature 538 single-family homes, sized from 1,500 to 2,500 square feet.
Open to residents of all ages, Bonita National Golf & Country Club will certainly appeal to active adult homebuyers. This 1,489-home, Lennar community will offer a 24,000 square-foot clubhouse with upscale amenities, including an 18-hole championship golf course.
With 700 homes, Bonterra at Woodforest is a quiet enclave with many appealing features. Residents will be able to enjoy a private clubhouse, as well as the amenities in the larger Woodforest community. These include a 12,000 square-foot clubhouse, 27 holes of golf and 90 acres of planned retail.
Set in the Tucson area, Del Webb at Dove Mountain is designed to include approximately 600 single-family homes and a private clubhouse with a state-of-the-art fitness center. While waiting for the community clubhouse, early residents can make use of the amenities at the nearby Gallery Sports Club.
With plans for just 297 homes, The Ponds at Cobblestone Park offer a quiet, neighborhood feel. This D. R. Horton community is open to all residents, yet its amenities are age-targeted for active adult retirees. Residents will have access to Cobblestone Park amenities, including the 30,000 square-foot clubhouse and 27 holes of golf.
