At the Sundial House clubhouse, situated on an elevated peak, residents can enjoy views of Downtown Denver, Pikes Peak, Longs Peak, and the 8,200 acres of Backcountry Wilderness Area. Within the private lodge, homeowners can take advantage of many amenities, including Pikes Pub and Bar, complete with a demonstration kitchen and community rooms, a resort-style outdoor pool, two-lane lap pool, fitness and movement studios, and spa treatment rooms.

The Sundial House also hosts concerts at the outdoor amphitheater, allowing residents to enjoy various musical acts against a backdrop of Colorado wilderness. Active adults who enjoy spending time outdoors can explore the hard and soft surface trails that weave through the community or venture onto trails in the South Rim and the Backcountry Wilderness Area. In the South Rim, which extends into the Backcountry Wilderness Area, residents have 467 acres to bike, hike, walk, and birdwatch. Homeowners can also head out on the community’s two private trails: the Sundial Loop, which offers 2.4 miles or .75 miles, or the BackCountry Loop, which spans 2.1 or 3.5 miles.

Active adult homebuyers who prefer single-level living can explore three single-family home model collections that include 283 ranch residences within BackCountry. With 10 total home model collections, active adults can explore a variety of homes with different floor plans, features, and price points.

Shea Homes built 90 single-family homes offered in three ranch-style home models, which comprise the Painted Sky Collection. These homes range from 2,221 to 3,490 square feet and give homeowners a low-maintenance lifestyle. A homeowners’ association takes care of snow removal, allowing residents to spend more time enjoying their favorite winter recreation activities. 

Shea Homes also built 139 homes in the Whispering Winds Luxury Villas Collection, which offer homes ranging between 2,457 to 3,475 square feet. These residences provide tranquil outdoor living spaces, gourmet kitchens, and covered dining terraces. Some models include two-sided fireplaces, flex spaces, and morning rooms.

The Richmond American Homes Collection from the builder of the same name accounts for 54 ranch-style homes, which range from 2,840 to 3,150 square feet. Homes in this collection feature many desirable features, including great rooms with fireplaces, gourmet kitchens, and covered front porches. A homeowners’ association covers landscaping and exterior home maintenance.

A Vibrant Social Atmosphere

BackCountry offers several ways for residents to stay engaged, whether they join a lifestyle club, mingle with neighbors at a social gathering, or pursue their favorite hobbies. The community offers a variety of groups including hiking club, cooking club, running club, and a monthly book club.

Active adults can also join the fun and meet new friends over mahjong, euchre, and couples hand and foot canasta. With regular social gatherings such as potlucks, happy hours, and breakfast socials, active adults can always look forward to something fun and interesting.
