The Denver area has seen a huge influx of new residents with over 80,000 people moving to the city in the last seven years. This has made the Denver metropolitan area the 11th fastest-growing area in the country, while Colorado as a whole is the fastest-growing state.
While many point to the increasing demographics of millennials, many active adults are also choosing to go west. There are quite a few reasons people have flocked to the state, including amazing outdoor recreation spots, excellent dining options, and a wealth of entertainment choices. If you’re looking to join them, here are five great communities to consider that also won’t break the bank.
Windsor Gardens - Denver
One of the largest active adult communities in the state is Windsor Gardens, which hosts 2,689 attached homes and condominiums. They include one-to-three bedrooms, one-to-three bathrooms, and a parking space or two-car garages.
The community boasts a long list of amenities, including a 35,000 square-foot clubhouse. Inside, residents can stay active with the fitness center, aerobics studio, sauna, and indoor pool and spa. There are also multiple gathering spaces like the auditorium, ballroom with stage, business center, meeting room, and Blossoms Restaurant and Bar. Beyond that, the clubhouse is home to a billiards room, card room, arts and crafts studio, lapidary studio, stained glass studio, and woodworking studio.
Outdoors, homeowners enjoy a pool, shuffleboard courts, bocce ball courts, horseshoe pits, picnic pavilion, community garden, RV parking, and walking trails.
