Ocean County takes up a large portion of New Jersey’s shoreline and it is a prime location for active adult communities, with 64 throughout the county. Its location puts it near popular cities like Atlantic City, Philadelphia, and New York City. It has a range of local attractions, including beach communities like Point Pleasant and Long Beach Island to thousands of acres of NJ Pine Barrens. It's also home to multiple shopping malls, theaters, galleries, world-class golf, and historic sites. It’s no wonder that 21.90 percent of the population is 45 to 64, and 22.20 percent are 65 and older.
Active adults love their Ocean County neighborhoods, but they like to get out of town once in a while, too. Whether they choose to travel by car, bus, train, boat or plane, Ocean County provides many options for globetrotters.
