Constructed by various builders between 1987 and 2008, The Plantation at Leesburg offers a series of models and floor plans throughout its 30 different neighborhoods. Residents can choose a two-bedroom home with two bathrooms and a two-car garage or a larger home in the Pandora Collection, which has three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

The properties in this community are between 1,872 square feet and 2,650 square feet. Each neighborhood comes with its own association but all the HOA fees cover security, grounds and common area maintenance, landscaping, and the three activities directors who are responsible for coordinating the hundreds of clubs and events that are available for residents.

Living the Plantation Lifestyle

Social activities abound at The Plantation at Leesburg. The main clubhouse is The Grand Manor, where residents can find a restaurant, a ballroom, and a library. There’s also an outdoor pool, courts for volleyball, shuffleboard, tennis, bocce, and pickleball, and 10 horseshoe pits. Two semi-private golf courses are available for tee times; Otter Creek and Crane’s Roost. Residents can take advantage of discounted fees and visit the on-site pro shop for golf gear, rentals, and even lessons.

The other two clubhouses are Heritage Hall and Ashley Hall, where there are fitness centers, pools, and multipurpose rooms. Residents can try the archery club, sign up for hula lessons, or get involved with the drama club. There’s also yoga, trivia, darts, and a writers guild.

Plenty of walking and biking trails are available for residents to enjoy fresh air, stunning sunsets, and year-round warm weather. A lake on the property includes a small beach area, and active adults can get together for some friendly competition on the baseball and softball fields.

Leesburg Living: Getting to Know Lake County

With so much to do at The Plantation and views of waterfalls and lush landscaping, it’s hard to imagine wanting to leave. But, there’s a lot to do in the area as well to keep active adults entertained.

It’s called Lake County for a reason. There are several lakes to explore in Leesburg and Lake Griffin is a great place to start. Visitors can hike, kayak, view wildlife, and fish from the marshes. There are also guided canoe rides and pontoon boat tours. The largest lakes are part of the Harris Chain of Lakes, and gorgeous parks at Lake Harris and Lake Eustis offer plenty of water and nature activities.

The Plantation at Leesburg is close to US-41, making travel throughout the state easy. It’s about half an hour from Orlando and all its attractions, and about an hour from both the Gulf coast and the Atlantic coast.
