The Meridian, Del Webb Bexley's clubhouse, will span 19,000 square feet.

One of the most highly anticipated 55+ communities in the Tampa area is Del Webb Bexley, scheduled to have a selection of model homes completed early in 2019. Located about 30 minutes from Downtown Tampa in Land O’Lakes, the development will be the first brand new community built by Del Webb exclusively for active adults in the Tampa metropolitan area since 1960.

The ground has already broken on the community’s clubhouse, an amenity-rich recreation center with a $14 million budget and a proposed 19,000 square feet of space.

The Meridian at Bexley

Most of the features at the clubhouse, named The Meridian, will focus on fitness and social activity. A large resort-style pool is planned with an outdoor patio. The clubhouse will also have a resistance pool and café. Residents will enjoy an outdoor dog park, pickleball courts, and a fitness center with state-of-the-art weight training machines and cardio equipment.

With The Meridian at Bexley, PulteGroup’s Del Webb brand is hoping to offer residents a lifestyle in addition to a home. Developers envision the clubhouse as being a community hub for neighbors to get together and socialize. The community will employ a full-time lifestyle director to organize events and plan activities aimed at keeping residents healthy, socially active, and engaged in their community.

There’s also the Classic series, with a price range starting in the high $200s and going to the low $300s. All of these two-bedroom models will have dens and large garages. Sizes run from 1,659 to 1,968 square feet. In the Estate series, buyers can opt for a larger home up to 2,852 square feet with two or three bedrooms plus a den and three bathrooms. These will cost from the mid $300s to the low $400s.

Additional Del Webb Bexley Highlights

As construction on the clubhouse gets underway, potential buyers and future residents can get to know some of the additional amenities that will be available at this expansive community. The fitness center will include an aerobics studio, where group exercise classes like yoga and stretching will be held. A grand ballroom is planned for events such as holiday parties, and there will be space for card games, billiards, and arts and crafts. A food and beverage center will ensure residents have a place to grab a snack or a cup of coffee with their neighbors.

In addition to pickleball, residents will enjoy tennis courts and bocce ball courts. An outdoor amphitheater is in the works for concerts, parties, and other events. A community garden will give homeowners the opportunity to grow flowers or food. The property will include gorgeous trails winding through parks and lakes—perfect for a morning walk or a bike ride in the evenings.

Living at Del Webb Bexley will provide residents with plenty of opportunities to stay active, whether it’s driving into Tampa for a hockey game or staying home to enjoy one of the many opportunities for recreation at The Meridian clubhouse.
