Cornerstone Homes held a groundbreaking ceremony this week for its newest 55+ community in Chesterfield County in Virginia called Villas at Ashlake. This new active adult community will consist of 82 residences and will be located at Ashlake and Ashbrook Parkway south of Hull Street Road, near Hancock Village Shopping Center and across from the Woodlake development. Cornerstone owner Roger Glover was one of the people in attendance for the community’s groundbreaking event.
Villas at Ashlake will offer single-level homes, which are similar to the builder’s previous development of Villas at Magnolia Lakes in Chester, which is a collection of attached duplex and fourplex homes. Homes in Villas at Ashlake will range in size from 1,550 to 2,300 square feet and will be priced starting in the high $200s. Homes will offer optional bonus suites and the community will feature a clubhouse with a pool, fitness center, community garden, and walking trails. Construction of Villas at Ashlake has just begun and will spread across 20 acres along Ashlake Parkway. Glover purchased the site last year for $1.25 million and estimates the development will cost approximately $18 million. Plans call for the first homes to be built by the end of this year.
