Bunkers and fairway on golf course in Lakewood Ranch

Active adults will soon have another option in the popular Lakewood Ranch master-planned community.

Ground broke on the new Cresswind Lakewood Ranch community late last year, and Kolter Homes is projecting the 55+ community will be ready to open in the fall of 2019.

Active adults seeking homes for sale in Sarasota, FL or Bradenton might want to consider this neighborhood, which is joining the established, award-winning Lakewood Ranch master-planned community, home to several other age-restricted communities.

Cresswind’s Real Estate and Amenities

Cresswind’s space is just five minutes from the center of Lakewood Ranch, north of State Road 70. It’s hard to miss the construction off Uihlein Road where Kolter is building.

Home Selection

The community plans include 650 single-family homes with between two and four bedrooms. All the properties will be on one floor, although upgrades are available with a second-floor bonus room.

Models in other Cresswind communities follow a “Comfort Home Design” concept, which includes large master suites, separate areas for guests, and designs that are balanced and comfortable.

There’s a lot of room for buyers to customize their floor plans and their finishes. Choices include expanded patio space outside for entertaining and al fresco dining. Prices are expected to range from the low $300s to the high $500s.

The amenities at Cresswind Lakewood Ranch will be as expansive and impressive as Kolter’s other active adult communities. Plans include a clubhouse with a demonstration kitchen as well as a modern fitness center and yoga studio. An art studio with ceramics space and a game room that features billiards will also be available.

Residents will have ample opportunities to enjoy the year-round Florida sunshine with a pickleball court, tennis courts, bocce ball courts, and a pool and spa. An event lawn is in the plans as well as outdoor social areas and miles of walking and biking trails.

A full-time lifestyle director will be on hand to help with the planning of social events and community activities.

Lakewood Ranch Lifestyle

Lakewood Ranch is a multi-generational community that’s ready to welcome the 55+ Cresswind neighborhood. It’s been on Florida’s Gulf Coast for 25 years, and a sales leader in Florida real estate. According to RCLCO Real Estate Advisors, it’s the second fastest selling master-planned community in the entire U.S., just behind The Villages.

Lakewood Ranch has highly rated schools and hospitals, as well as all the shopping, dining, and recreation that residents of all ages want. A sports campus includes a polo field, and Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club has three golf courses, 20 tennis courts, and plenty of space for dining and special events. Buying a home in Cresswind Lakewood Ranch will include the option of joining the club.

It's also home to the age-restricted Del Webb Lakewood Ranch, as well as Esplande at Lakewood Ranch, Indigo, and Lakewood National, all good options for active adults.

Exploring Sarasota and Bradenton

Cresswind Lakewood Ranch will be 15 miles from downtown Bradenton and 18 miles from downtown Sarasota. This region of Southwest Florida is right on the Gulf Coast, and provides residents and visitors with great opportunities for golfing, shopping, boating, fishing, and enjoying the beach. It’s also an easy spot from which to travel to other parts of the state, and located right off Interstate 75.

The community is well-located for convenient shopping and recreation. Buyers won’t have to leave Lakewood Ranch to find a Publix or a Walmart Supercenter. There are also unique and organic options like Healthy Living Organic and Natural Market and Earth Fare, and there’s a farmers market every Saturday.

In Bradenton, there are museums and aquariums to keep residents busy and curious. The South Florida Museum has a planetarium and a program for rehabilitating hurt manatees. DeSoto National Memorial Park combines history with nature. It’s also a great place to fish, launch a kayak, or relax on the beach with a book. Bradenton’s beaches are quieter than others on the Gulf, and there’s always a good chance of spotting a dolphin or two.

Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota is a local favorite, thanks to the free parking and constant activity. For beach shack dining, it’s easy to enjoy lobster rolls and beer at Lido Beach Restaurant, and downtown Sarasota is packed with cafes, shops, and other fine dining options.

As model homes are built at Cresswind Lakewood Ranch and the amenities and recreation centers are in place towards the end of the year, buyers interested in these Florida homes for sale will be able to take tours and perhaps even enjoy a Stay and Play package. Kolter has provided such opportunities at their other Cresswind properties, and will begin planning that out once more of the community is established.
