One of the largest cities in Illinois, Naperville is a popular area filled with unique shops and restaurants. Throughout the year, Naperville plays host to a number of events, including summer concerts, parades, festivals.

With so much to do, it is no wonder that Naperville is a popular destination for active adults. Thankfully, the city is home to a number of communities for retirees. Read on to learn about some of the communities within Naperville.

Carillon Club

High $200s - Mid $500s

Consisting of 778 residences, Carillon Club is a high-end active adult community. Featuring 23 floor plans, homebuyers can choose from single-family residences, townhomes, and condo units.

The community features an 18,000 square-foot clubhouse with a variety of activities on offer. Whether it’s getting a lap in at the lap pool, working out at the exercise facility and aerobics studio, or taking some personal time at the spa, there are plenty of options to choose from. Outside features just as much to see and do.

Residents can gather their friends and compete on the tennis courts, bocce ball courts, or horseshoe pits. There are also gardening plots, as well as several walking and biking trails. There are also two separate pools, one at the clubhouse and one for grandchildren.

Carillon Club also offers a full calendar of club meetings, neighborhood parties, and fun day trips. Clubs include a wine tasting club, a singles club, and a Red Hat Society. There are classes offered as well, including aerobics, yoga, and water exercises.

Ashwood Crossing

High $200s - High $400s

Next up is Ashwood Crossing, a 55+ community built by Pulte Homes. Featuring 103 attached and single-family homes that are customizable to meet the needs and taste of each resident.

Current plans call for 42 attached home and 61 single-family residences with attached homes being roughly 1,500 square feet while single-family residences starting from 2,397 to 3,415 square feet.

In terms of community life, while it does not feature a standard clubhouse, Ashwood Crossing makes up for it in its scenic appearance. Residents are free to enjoy a morning stroll or jog around the neighborhood or can enjoy a sunny day immersing themselves in nature while exploring the pond and park spaces.

Hampton Park

Low $300s - High $300s

Hampton Park is a small 55+ active adult community of just 62 attached homes. Hampton Park's homes are all low-maintenance and offer 1,567 to 1,948 square feet of living space.

Most floor plans feature two bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and an attached two-car garage. Regardless of the model, each home offers single-level living that comes with brick exteriors and basements. Also, residents will not have to worry about exterior maintenance thanks to the homeowners association, a reasonable fee which covers lawn care and snow removal.

The clubhouse serves as the central hub of the community. Here, homeowners can find everything from a multipurpose room for hosting events to an exercise room for getting in a quick workout. Outdoors, residents can also gather together and enjoy the picturesque gazebo, a popular spot during the warmer months.

Atwater Ranches

High $300s - Mid $400s

Atwater Ranches is an active lifestyle community that was developed by Pulte Homes. Similar to Hampton Park, Atwater Ranches is a small 60 home community. The community allows homebuyers to choose between one of four different floor plans.

Ranging from 1,683 to 1,953 square feet, each home includes open and customizable floor plans with flex spaces that can be used as dens, hobby rooms, or additional bathrooms. Regardless of floor plan, each home offers a full-size basement as well.

Atwater Ranches spans 111 acres of land, 50 percent of which is dedicated to the community’s natural space amenities. Here, residents can find a 3.8-mile trail that rings around the community, perfect for enjoying outdoor activities such as bike riding or running.

Hobson Villas

Low $400s - Mid $500s

Rounding out the list is Hobson Villas. Containing just 42 residences, Hobson Villas is a tight-knit community where residents can build close bonds with their fellow neighbors.

All of the homes in Hobson Villas are attached resale homes that range between 1,706 to 3,000 square feet. Additional features include vaulted ceilings, brick exteriors, and a private patio or deck area.

With exterior maintenance provided by a homeowners' association, residents are free to enjoy their retirement in bliss. Residents can embrace all that Naperville has to offer, including its scenic riverwalk and abundance of shops and restaurants.
