See which cities and communities you should be keeping an eye on this year.

The last decade has seen more and more people move back to large cities and urban centers from nearby cities. Despite that, it was mid-size cities that saw the largest growth relative to size in 2017. Many of these cities are also home to some of the most popular 55+ communities in the country. Besides long-standing active adult communities, cities like Frisco, TX, and Kent, WA have also seen an emergence of new developments that make them ideal retirement destinations. Here are five of the fastest-growing cities in the country in 2017 as well as the 55+ communities that surround them.

Frisco, TX

The Dallas-Fort Worth Area has long been one of the fastest-growing in the country. For decades now, Dallas and its suburbs have been a shining example of America’s heartland. That growth has not slowed in recent years, it just must find new areas in the region to go. Step up Frisco, a suburb just north of Dallas. Frisco is in a prime location in the metro area, including a border on Lewisville Lake and easy highway access to Downtown Dallas.

Frisco itself is home to several museums, greenspace, and shopping options like any major city. Like all Del Webb communities, it includes a wide array of amenities, including a 28,000-square-foot clubhouse, fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools, and tennis courts.  Waterford Point at The Tribute is the newest active adult community in the area and is already generating a lot of buzz.
