Richmond has seen many new 55+ communities. Kenbrook at Harpers Mill is one of them, and residents are now moving in.

In 2018, Eagle Construction of Virginia announced they would develop a 55+ neighborhood in the master-planned community of Harpers Mill outside Richmond. Earlier this month, the first residents began moving into their new custom homes in Kenbrook at Harpers Mill.

When complete, Kenbrook at Harpers Mill will feature 150 homes. With extensive experience constructing and developing 55+ communities, Eagle Construction provides designs and layouts that combine open floor plans with quality features.

Home Selection

Kenbrook offers six single-family models that range from 1,600 to 2,800 square feet. All homes include a first-floor master suite with master bath, two-car garage, and two additional bedrooms on the first or second floors. Design elements include hardwood floors, ceramic tiles in the bathroom, and granite countertops.

The models also include energy-efficient home features, and are Pearl Certified to be healthy, safe, comfortable, and energy and water efficient. Homeowners can also choose to add screened-in porches, fireplaces, soaking bathtubs, and other features. These new, custom homes are priced in the $300s.


Located in Chesterfield, Harpers Mill is newer development committed to keeping a community feel in a quiet setting. 240 acres of open space surround the community, include walking and biking trails that weave between neighborhoods. The parks and greenspaces in the community also include a playground perfect for grandchildren, dog park, community lawn, and patio.

Residents can also enjoy the 3,000 square-foot clubhouse, where community events are held, and the resort-style swimming pool. Within a short drive, active adults can also find two golf courses and the expansive Pocahontas State Park.

Around Richmond

When complete, Harpers Mill will include a retail corner with neighborhood shops and a restaurant. Currently, three shopping centers and malls are within a 10- to 15-minute drive from the community. Here residents can find grocery stores, big box stores, restaurants, and a movie theater. Within 30 minutes, residents can also experience all that Downtown Richmond has to offer.
