Active adults looking for a retirement destination in the Houston Area can find fabulous amenities and affordable homes in Heritage Grand at Cinco Ranch. This 650-home community is set in Katy, Texas, about 28 miles west of Houston. It features a spacious clubhouse with impressive amenities, a variety of outdoor recreations and access to Cinco Ranch’s 18-hole championship golf course.

Heritage Grand at Cinco Ranch was built between 2002 and 2010 with homes by both Village Builders and K. Hovnanian. The community’s wide walkways and bike paths encourage residents to enjoy the beautiful grounds, while nearby retail centers offer shops, restaurants, and other conveniences.


Residences in Heritage Grand at Cinco Ranch include both attached duplexes and single-family homes. Most homes were constructed by Village Builders, while 65 single-family homes were built by K. Hovnanian.

The community’s 98 duplex homes were built in two models, ranging in size from 1,423 to 1,865 square feet. They include two bedrooms, two or three bathrooms, and two-car garages. Village Builders originally offered single-family homes in 18 models, spread across three home collections.

These homes were designed to meet the needs of many different active adult homebuyers, with sizes ranging from 1,553 to over 3,000 square feet. Homes have two or three bedrooms, two to three-and-a-half bathrooms, and two to three-car garages. Larger homes may also have separate dens.

Single-family homes by K. Hovnanian were built in eight different models, with sizes ranging from 1,520 to over 2,300 square feet. Designs include two or three bedrooms, two or three bathrooms, and two-car garages. Many homes were offered with a choice between a den or third bedroom, while larger homes may have three bedrooms and a den.


Built within the larger Cinco Ranch community, Heritage Grand brings residents together with an amenity-rich clubhouse. This 14,000 square-foot facility features a fireside lounge, a library and a grand ballroom for community events. Residents can explore their creativity in the arts and crafts center and enjoy friendly games in the cards and billiards room.

There is also a fitness center with cardiovascular and strength-training equipment. Activities and special-interest clubs fill out Heritage Grand at Cinco Ranch’s full social calendar. There are card games, crafting groups, dances, fitness classes, potluck dinners, and holiday parties. A staff of five full-time assistants keep events running smoothly and are on hand to help residents make the most of life at Heritage Grand.

Residents can make the most of the warm Texas days at this beautiful resort-style swimming pool.

Outdoors, the amenities continue with a number of recreations. There is an outdoor pool, a resistance pool and a whirlpool spa. For friendly competition, residents can make use of bocce ball courts, shuffleboard courts, pickleball courts, horseshoe pits, a basketball court, and an 18-hole putting green. The grounds also offer a picnic pavilion and gazebo, walking trails, and space for RV parking.
