Though many people picture active adult communities set among the sunny beaches of Florida or the arid high deserts of Arizona, there is a growing demand for resort-style communities in areas which enjoy all four seasons. Set in the popular Monroe, New Jersey area, Concordia offers spectacular amenities, along with a prime location near New York City, Philadelphia, and Atlantic City.
Built between 1983 and 2000, Concordia is a golf course community that welcomes residents age 55 and older. Though the development is rather large for the area with 1,757 residences, the community’s design offers plenty of privacy, with large homesites and mature landscaping.
The community also offers several affordable home styles including condos, semi-attached duplexes, townhomes, and single-family homes. Although development has been completed at Concordia, potential homebuyers can choose from available resale homes within the community.
Regardless of the style, all of the residences at Concordia were thoughtfully-designed with floor plans that appeal to active adult buyers. Most of the residences are single-story, though one model of townhome features a two-story loft which overlooks the living room.
Security is an important feature for many active adult homebuyers and Concordia meets this need with several key features. To begin, the community is gated to reduce the traffic passing through the development. Each residence in Concordia also is equipped with a special alarm system. This emergency assistance panel has special buttons which will send for help from either the security service at the gate or from the 24-hour community nursing service.
Amenities & Golf
The many amenities at Concordia offer residents true country club living. The multimillion-dollar clubhouse has been designed to support a healthy, active adult lifestyle. There are activity rooms for billiards, cards, games, parties, hobbies, crafts and simply socializing with friends. The spacious fitness center offers cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, as well as a sauna and an indoor lap pool with a Jacuzzi spa.
Outdoors, residents can enjoy several recreational activities including lighted tennis courts and an optional membership at the 18-hole Concordia Golf Club. This 6,200 yard, par-72 course is designed to be challenging yet accessible. In addition to regular play, the club offers a competitive tournament schedule, an all-grass driving range, and on-site lessons. There is also a full service cafe and a fully-stocked golf pro shop.
Plenty to Do Around Concordia
Beyond the community gates, residents will find many conveniently located shops, restaurants, and services. The Concordia Shopping Center is within walking distance and the Freehold Raceway Mall is only a short 15-minute drive. There is even a commuter and shopping bus service to help residents get around town.
