And not only are the homes on Callawassie Island the perfect place to soak up South Carolina’s breathtaking sunsets with a chilled chardonnay in hand, they’re the most ideal properties for active adults interested in enjoying their retirement by dining, shopping, golfing and staying active. This gated country club community, which is open to home buyers of all ages, started in 1984 and will have 726 homes on 880 acres when completed.

Situated on an island surrounded by three bodies of water, the community has beautiful salt marshes, moss-draped majestic oaks and pristine views of the water and brilliant pink, red and purple painted sunset sky.
