Situated at the northern edge of California’s popular Inland Empire, Sun City Apple Valley boasts many of the amenities that active adults have come to expect in a Del Webb community. There is a spacious clubhouse, a 27-hole golf course and plenty of social clubs and activities. Yet homebuyers will also be impressed with the community’s varied collection of thoughtfully-designed single-family homes.
At Sun City Apple Valley, the amenities are largely centered around the Aspen Clubhouse. This 22,000 square-foot facility provides ample space for a wide range of social and recreational activities. The spacious fitness center features state-of-the-art exercise equipment, an aerobics studio and an indoor lap pool. There are hobby and game rooms, meeting rooms, a library and computer lab, a resort-style outdoor pool and spa, and a large ballroom for community events.
Additional amenities are available at a second, smaller clubhouse, known as the Mariposa Lodge. Located at the edge of Sun City Apple Valley, the Mariposa Lodge has its own fitness room and multipurpose hobby and game rooms. It is also the location of an outdoor amphitheater where residents can enjoy open-air concerts, movies, and other events.
Outdoor recreations at Sun City Apple Valley are plentiful. The 27-hole Ashwood Golf Course is a public, par-6thatrse which highlights the area’s spectacular high desert scenery. The expansive community grounds also contain miles of lovely walking trails and several sports courts for games like tennis, bocce ball and pickleball.
In 2004, Del Webb began Sun City Apple Valley with a plan for 1,700 single-family homes. Today, homebuyers can choose between available resale homes and building a new home. While the first phase of the community has been completed, there are still new construction homes available in the rest of the development.
Sun City Apple Valley’s beautiful new construction models are available in two distinct groupings: the Marianna Collection and the Mojave Collection. Throughout the community, homebuyers will find single-story homes with a minimum of two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a two-car garage. Each collection includes its own single-family floor plans designed to appeal to active adult homebuyers.
The Marianna Collection features affordable home designs which range in size from 1,099 to 2,076 square feet. The larger models include two bedrooms and a den, and one model has three bedrooms. Luxurious upgrades are optional, which keeps the home prices a bit lower in this collection.
The Mojave Collection contains similarly-sized floor plans with models ranging from 1,198 to 2,230 square feet. Each of the designs include two bedrooms, and all but the smallest model has an added den as well. The largest difference with the Mojave Collection is that luxuries like 10-foot ceilings and Corian countertops are included with the base price, instead of being available as optional upgrades.
When it comes to resort-style active adult communities in Southern California, Sun City Apple Valley is sure to impress. If it sounds like your kind of place, arranging a day pass with Del Webb will let you try out the amenities, and a round of golf, during your visit.
