Surrounded by Arizona desert and mountains, Rio Verde is a small town about 30 miles northeast of Downtown Scottsdale, just outside the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan Area. It’s very much a place for those who want to play golf and explore the great outdoors while also having the amenities of a big city only a short drive away. Downtown Phoenix and Phoenix’s international airport are both less than an hour’s drive from Rio Verde.
Residents of Rio Verde also enjoy being on the edge of the Tonto National Forest, which covers almost 3 million acres, and the McDowell Mountain Regional Park, which provides another 21,000 acres of outdoor recreational opportunities.
Made up of three active adult communities, Rio Verde offers its residents plenty of outdoor activities as well as a variety of home styles.
