The quiet Gold Canyon location of Mountainbrook Village gives this 55+ community a sense of privacy.

Affordable homes and majestic views of the Superstition Mountains greet active adults at one of the desert’s most beautiful senior communities, Mountainbrook Village. This lovely community has the tranquility of a remote destination, while still being within 20 to 30 minutes from exciting attractions in areas like Mesa, Gilbert and Chandler. It also offers attractive, low-maintenance homes and amenities including two semi-private golf courses. Arizona retirement communities like Mountainbrook Village are scenic, picturesque senior communities.

Its quiet location in Gold Canyon, Arizona, is one of Mountainbrook Village’s most appealing features. The community is set 42 miles east of Phoenix, just beyond the Superstition Freeway. This destination in the far eastern edge of Arizona’s Valley of the Sun gives the community a remote feel, while also providing easy access to natural attractions like Lost Dutchman’s State Park and Canyon Lake.

Although the community has a tranquil setting, its resort-style amenities support an active lifestyle. The spacious amenities complex includes a 1,900 square-foot fitness center, hobby rooms and plenty of space for socializing, including a cozy cafe. Residents can make use of the library and computer lab, or enjoy a friendly game of billiards or cards. The large, multipurpose ballroom has a performance stage and sound system, making it an ideal setting for many different activities and community events.

Outdoors, the recreations continue with two outdoor swimming pools, a rejuvenating spa and a surrounding deck for soaking up the Arizona sunshine. A large patio with grills and tables is a great spot for a barbecue or picnic, while sports courts provide outdoor activity. There are three tennis courts, pickleball courts and bocce ball courts – just a few of the wonderful amenities offered at only the top senior communities.

Two semi-private golf courses also provide plenty of opportunities for resident golfers to hit the greens. The Mountainbrook Village Golf Club has an 18-hold course which stretches across 6,620 yards from its longest tees. Designed for golfers of any skill level, this par-71 course has a user-friendly layout with some surprising challenges. The club also offers golf lessons, practice facilities and a golf pro shop.

Golfers can also enjoy a game at Gold Canyon Golf Resort, which has two 18-hole championship golf courses: Dinosaur Mountain and Sidewinder. Dramatic elevation changes and spectacular mountain views make playing these courses a memorable experience.

The 1,659 residences at Mountainbrook Village, one of the premier Arizona retirement communities, include both single-family and attached duplex homes which were built by Shea Homes between 1989 and 2001. While construction has completed, homes are available today on a resale basis.

Homes throughout the development offer picturesque views of the golf course and Superstition Mountains. These lovely residences were built with traditional Arizona architecture and layouts designed with active adults in mind. Homes vary in style, with sizes ranging from 1,130 to over 2,500 square feet.

Active adults who like the Phoenix area, but long for a more remote destination, may find just what they are looking for in Shea Homes’ beautiful Mountainbrook Village community.
