Cobb County continues to see a housing boom when it comes to 55+ communities in Georgia. There are already 64 active adult and active lifestyle communities throughout the Atlanta area and soon there will be one more thanks to Marietta-based developer Fortress Builders.

The developers are looking at a 22.8-acre site on Harris Road in Marietta, Georgia. The company has plans to build 45 single-family homes that will include low-maintenance exteriors along with other features active adults love. Homes will be priced from the low $300s going up to the low $400s.

The new community will join four other age-restricted communities in Marietta including Barrett Preserve, Fortress Builders’ other active adult community. Barrett Preserve includes a community pavilion, outdoor patio, fire pit, lawn care, and exterior home maintenance. Marietta and the Atlanta area have become a popular retirement destination for active adults due to its warm climate, southern charm, outdoor recreation, and access to big-city amenities.
