With the addition of these new developments, potential homebuyers considering a move to the Tar Heel State can have their pick of location, builder, housing style, and price point.

Here are the 10 newest active adult communities in North Carolina.

Buckhorn PreserveApex, NC

Mid $300s – Low $400s

Located outside the Research Triangle in the small town of Apex, the Buckhorn Preserve community will have a total of 272 single-family homes upon final completion. The development offers potential buyers 11 models with floor plans that range from 1,730 to 2,729 square feet. Plans can have two to three bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and attached two-car garages.

The Buckhorn Preserve’s planned amenities include a clubhouse, a fitness center, a demonstration kitchen, and multipurpose rooms as well as two outdoor pools and patios.

Cornelius WoodsCornelius, NC

High $100s – Mid $300s

The age-restricted Cornelius Woods community will have 111 attached homes in a dozen floor plans when it’s completed. The community’s condominiums range from 877 to 1,822 square feet with one to three bedrooms and one to two bathrooms, while the villa layout spans 1,318 square feet with two to three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an attached two-car garage.

Cornelius Woods’ noteworthy amenities include a clubhouse with both multi-purpose and meeting rooms.

Hidden ValleyFuquay-Varina, NC

Low $300s – Mid $400s

The Hidden Valley community of Fuquay-Varina will have a total of 500 single-family homes once the development is completed. There are two home series with more than a dozen floor plans ranging between 1,633 and 2,956 square feet. Plans can have two to five bedrooms, two to three-and-a-half bathrooms, and attached two-car garages.

Hidden Valley residents have access to several amenities including a clubhouse, a multi-purpose room, an outdoor pool with a patio, a community garden, and a scenic pond.

Magnolia GlenMebane, NC

Low $200s – Mid $300s

Located close to Chapel Hill in Mebane, the new Magnolia Glen community will consist of 106 single-family homes. There are five distinctive floor plans to consider that vary between 1,693 and 2,557 square feet. Plans can have two to four bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and two-car garages. The three largest layouts also include dens.

The community’s two models range from 1,820 to 2,720 square feet and have between two to four bedrooms, two-and-a-half to three-and-a-half bathrooms, and attached two-car garages.

The Courtyards at Southpoint is located 10 minutes from Downtown Durham. Along with its desirable location, the neighborhood will feature 93 single-family homes with prices starting in the low $400s. Residences are ranch-style homes with six home models to choose between. Layouts range from 1,519 to 2,920 square feet with two to four bedrooms, two to three-and-a-half bathrooms, and two- to two-and-a-half car garages.
