Bridgewater is a new active lifestyle community coming to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Builder Chesapeake Homes has plans to build a total of 1,550 homes situated on the former site of the sprawling 54-hole Bay Tree Golf Plantation, once a landmark in the area and now reclaimed as prime Myrtle Beach real estate.
This new master-planned community will sit on 540 acres on the northside of Myrtle Beach, conveniently located near the junction of state highways 9 and 17. Current plans call for an impressive 580 attached homes and 970 single-family homes. Homes are priced starting in the high $100s to low $300s and range in size from 1,586 to 2,860 square feet.
There will be eleven different floor plans for homebuyers to choose from ranging from quaint two-bedroom villas and townhomes to spacious five-bedroom single-family homes. All homes feature first-floor master suites, gourmet kitchens, open layouts, stylish appliances and fixtures, and outdoor living areas, perfect for entertaining while enjoying the wonderful Myrtle Beach climate.
Plans call for the site to be transformed from its current state into a resort-like master-planned community with plenty of green space and more than 100 acres of scenic lakes. A 5,000 square-foot clubhouse will be at the center of the community and will no doubt be the main hub where all residents can be as active and social as they wish. Some of the proposed amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, great room, multi-purpose rooms, and a card room.
Outdoors, homeowners will enjoy afternoons spent lounging at the two resort-style pools or hosting a barbecue in the outdoor grilling area. A gazebo, fire pits, and dog park will also be available in this vibrant community. Bridgewater will also include miles of walking and biking trails weaving throughout the neighborhood, allowing residents to enjoy the natural scenery while getting some fresh air.
Best of all, Bridgewater is located just minutes from Myrtle Beach’s renowned white sand beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. There are more than a dozen golf courses within ten miles, making it easy for golfers to grab a tee-time and hit the links without having to travel far from home. Daily needs like grocery shopping, a tune-up for the car, or a doctor’s appointment are also easy to take care of with plenty of shopping and other services all close by.
