New Community Alert: Del Webb eTown in Jacksonville, Florida

Homeowners in Del Webb eTown won\'t be far from the beach, St. John\'s River, and downtown Jacksonville.

Del Webb eTown is the latest 55+ community to be planned in Florida, and the popular builder expects to begin sales on-site in the Jacksonville area during the summer of 2019. The community will be constructed on Jacksonville’s south side, across the St. John’s River from the downtown district, and not far from the Jacksonville beaches.

This follows the news that Del Webb would be bringing their third 55+ community to the Jacksonville area, Del Webb Nocatee.

Del Webb eTown: A Model for Smart Living

Del Webb plans to build 346 single-family homes on the 88 acres of property that’s been purchased just off Florida 9B. The 55+ neighborhood will be part of the new eTown master-planned community. Residents will have easy access to the beach, Jacksonville International Airport, and all the restaurants, shopping, and entertainment available in downtown Jacksonville. Prices are expected to start in the mid $200s

The concept behind Del Webb eTown is smart living. The investment in technology and smart applications provides a new level of modernity and innovation, helping active adult residents to relax into a lifestyle that’s seamless and maintenance-free. Buyers will find homes that are extremely adaptable to their favorite electronic devices, whether it’s an iPhone or the Amazon Alexa.

The eTown master-planned community will embrace smart living and environmental stewardship, providing natural gas homes and instant tech. This includes having a home that’s wireless and completely accessible. Imagine programming your lights, thermostat, appliances, and security system with the touch of a button or a single voice command. Everything can be pre-wired before move-in, allowing for an easy transition with your favorite mobile devices.

Del Webb eTown Amenities and Activities

Del Webb, the iconic 55+ brand owned by PulteGroup, is known for impressive amenities and extensive social clubs that provide active adults with the opportunities they’re seeking in a new property.

The Del Webb eTown property will be no exception. Builders plan an amenity center that spans 5 acres and is slated to include an 8,000 square-foot clubhouse. Buyers can expect tennis courts, bocce ball courts, and pickleball. There will be a resort-style outdoor swimming pool, spas, and a fitness center complete with the latest weight training and cardio equipment as well as aerobics studios and space for dance and yoga classes.

Del Webb eTown homeowners will have plenty to do in their new neighborhood. Without leaving the community, there will be exercise classes, social club meetings, and a diverse number of groups to join. The property will include several scenic walking trails and biking paths. Scenic ponds will be spread out around the property, and residents can go jogging or get together at one of the community fire pits to watch the sunset.

Jacksonville Is a City for Active Adults

Jacksonville is also the most populated city in the southeastern U.S. and was recently named No. 4 on our list of most affordable places to retire in 2019. This provides locals and visitors with an urban experience that includes museums and culture, fine and casual dining, and a wealth of shopping and recreational opportunities.

It’s not all fast-paced city living, however. Jacksonville’s proximity to the St. John’s River and several preserves and wildlife refuges provides residents with opportunities for boating, fishing, hiking, and camping. Some of the best spots for birdwatching, wildlife viewing, and hiking are Big Pine Tract at Big Talbot State Park, Pumpkin Hill Creek State Park, and Timucuan Preserve.

Jacksonville beaches are 22 miles of sand and saltwater that attracts swimmers, surfers, and sun worshippers. Some of the most popular and friendly coastal points include Huguenot Memorial Park and its dramatic waves, Hanna Park where there’s beach camping, and the Jacksonville Pier which is a popular place for fishing.

Art lovers and antique shoppers will enjoy the finds at the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, and The Antique Market of San Jose. Festivals, arts markets, and shows are frequently on display along the waterfront, and the city’s arts and culture scene is growing.
