Four Seasons at Kent Island is a new active adult community in Maryland.

K. Hovnanian Homes has begun the first phase of construction on a new active adult community in Chester, Maryland. Situated along the banks of the Chester River, Four Seasons at Kent Island will feature single-family homes as well as five-story condominium buildings along the waterfront.

A total of 1,079 homes will be built in the community along with a resort-style community center. The first homes are expected to be completed in the fall of 2018 and are priced starting in the low $400s.

Planned amenities for the 55+ community include a 24,000 square-foot clubhouse featuring a banquet hall, fitness center, indoor pool, and outdoor pool with a patio. Residents will have miles of trails to enjoy in addition to a 470-foot fishing pier on the river.

K. Hovnanian will also provide over 336 acres of open space surrounding the community, including a 131-acre public eco-park adjacent to Chester’s Cross Island Trail as well as a 6.5-acre waterfront park along Macum Creek with parking and restrooms.

Located on Castle Marina Road just north of Downtown Chester, Four Seasons at Kent Island will offer residents convenient access to banks, shopping, and restaurants including It’s the Pits BBQ & Seafood, El Jefe Mexican Kitchen, and Frix’s Fire Grill. On the east end of town, residents will find a Safeway grocery store, Rite Aid and Walgreens pharmacies, and a variety of shops at the Kent Towne Market.

Residents will also be surrounded by all the natural resources found in the northern Chesapeake Bay. Just across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Sandy Point State Park offers tranquil beaches and breathtaking views of the water. Within the Chester River, Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge hosts hiking, marsh kayaking, and fishing in a 2,285-acre island preserve.

Four Seasons at Kent Island is just 17 miles from Maryland’s capital city, Annapolis. There, residents can see the sights of the city’s historic district, which includes the Maryland State House built in 1772. For long-distance travel, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is 38 miles from the community. With a variety of housing options and an impressive clubhouse located along the scenic coasts of the Chester River, Four Seasons at Kent Island is sure to attract active adults seeking a resort-style community in Chester, MD.

  2. I wish the builders would realize the need for 55 and over communities less than 250k. Most of us can’t afford 400k plus homes. The need is real. The rents keep going up and I would really rather make a mortgage payment then pay these high rent payments.

    1. Hi Debbie,

You can use the search box in the top-right corner of the page and then use the “Refine your Search” tool on the right-hand side to only show communities in your price range.

      Thanks!

  5. How can you call this a retirement community with these prices. When people retire most are on a fixed income. This is one of many reasons we left Kent Island and moves to South Carolina where for people wanting to retire can live comfortably on there income. Shame on Queen Anne’s County for not taking care of the retirement couples and expect them to live out the rest of there life’s on these prices.

  6. I agree with many who expressed concern over the pricing. Leaves out many of us who would love to have a small condo in a beautiful place.
