New Community Alert: Heron Creek in Mint Hill, NC

Mint Hill, North Carolina is welcoming a new community. 

Award-winning builder, Meritage Homes, is adding to the long list of active adult communities in the Charlotte area with its newest addition, Heron Creek. Located in the suburb of Mint Hill, less than 30 minutes outside of Uptown Charlotte, Heron Creek will be an intimate, tight-knit community with less than 100 homes. The development will feature new construction, energy-efficient homes with spacious, open floor plans and a variety of customization options for buyers to build their dream homes. Prices within the community range between the high $300s and mid $400s.

Here’s what you need to know about the new Charlotte community. 

Heron Creek Homes and Real Estate 

Plans for the development include a total of 81 single-family, ranch-style homes with seven distinct floor plans for prospective buyers to consider. Available plans range from 1,591 to 2,193 square feet of living space and have three bedrooms, two or two-and-a-half bathrooms, and attached two-car garages.

Homes will include features like granite kitchen countertops, spacious pantries, and large walk-in closets. Some plans also include several additions and customization options like covered patios, screened porches, sunrooms, flex spaces that can be used as offices or bonus rooms, and fireplaces. All homes will feature energy-efficient appliances like temperature-regulating advanced thermostats and MERV 13 air filtration.

Heron Creek Amenities

Heron Creek will offer homeowners ample outdoor amenities including a dog park where pet owners can safely enjoy time outside with their four-legged friends, pocket parks, and plenty of natural space. This scenic setting allows residents to spend time outside and take daily strolls.

Living in Mint Hill, NC 

The community’s desirable location in Mint Hill puts residents within close range of anything they may need from grocery stores and pharmacies to medical facilities and shopping centers. Local grocery stores and retailers include Publix, Harris Teeter, Food Lion, and Walmart. Pharmacy needs can be met at Walgreens and CVS.

When homeowners are looking for entertainment or dining options in the area they can travel to Mint Hill Village, a charming downtown area with shops, restaurants, bakeries, and bars. There are also a variety of attractions in the area, including the North Carolina Korean War Memorial, Carl J. McEwen Historic Village, and the Reed Gold Mine. 

Members of the community who want to get outside can find plenty of options to explore in the area. There are multiple greenspaces and parks to choose from, including Reedy Creek Park, Sherman Branch Mountain Biking Park, and Stevens Creek Nature Preserve.

Additionally, Heron Creek is within a short 25-minute drive of Uptown Charlotte, giving residents access to a seemingly endless list of dining, shopping, and entertainment options.
