Traditions of America announced the construction of a new development in Chesterfield County, south of Richmond, Virginia. Traditions of America at Chesterfield will be an age-restricted community made up of 250 single-family homes. Traditions of America, a company that primarily builds homes in the Northeast and Midwest, first submitted plans for the community in 2018 and is now pre-selling new homes in the community.

Award-Winning Home Designs

Traditions of America has not yet released specific designs for the homes at Chesterfield, but the home builder will expand on the award-winning designs of other Traditions of America communities. Single-family homes will range from 1,200 to 1,500 square feet with two bedrooms and two baths.

Homebuyers will also be able to customize their new homes. The builder encourages customization so that owners can have the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, and living space that best fits their needs. Traditions of America’s Interactive Builder tool will also help homeowners choose custom finishings like countertop materials, flooring, light fixtures, and more. 

All homes are also designed to be energy efficient, partnering with some of the biggest brands in construction and appliances. These features include energy-efficient materials, like insulation made of recycled materials, low VOC paints, and Energy-Star rated appliances. Traditions of America prides itself on quality homes that look and feel good. Homes also include up to a ten-year warranty on building.

Resort-Style Amenities

As a builder of 55+ communities, Traditions of America also seeks to create homeowner satisfaction through the available amenities. Other Traditions of America communities have won awards for Best Clubhouse and Best Lifestyle Director.

At Chesterfield, the builder plans to create a clubhouse with gathering spaces so residents can stay social. These include a business center, a cafe, a lounge, and a sports bar. Residents will also be able to stay active in the fitness center and outdoor pool. The builder also plans to include scenic ponds and walking trails throughout the 104-acre community.

Close to Richmond, and Beyond

Located just five minutes from I-95 on the south side of Richmond, Traditions of America at Chesterfield will offer residents easy access to Downtown Richmond as well as Richmond International Airport, which is only a 25-minute drive away. In the immediate neighborhood, residents can find chain and independent restaurants as well as big box and grocery stores. 

Chesterfield County is also home to Pocohontas State Park, which offers miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails as well as two fishing ponds. Active residents interested in golf can play at nearby links including First Tee Chesterfield and The Golf Club at the Highlands.
