With plans for just under 1,000 homes, Legacy of Leesburg is a Central Florida development that appeals to a wide range of active adults aged 55 and older. The community features an exciting line-up of resort-style amenities, yet it is also known for its natural beauty. The grounds include scenic lakes and lush conservation areas, as well as miles of nature trails that wind alongside the Palatlakaha River.

Residences

Legacy of Leesburg opened in 1996 and is continuing to develop today. Several builders have contributed to the community, including Pringle Development, although the community was acquired by Florida Leisure Communities in 2011. Florida Leisure Communities currently offers several models of single-family homes on a new construction basis. Interested homebuyers can also choose from available resale homes.

Florida Leisure Communities’ single-family homes are offered in three collections: the Garden Series, the Designer Series, and the Estate Series. Floor plans throughout these collections range from 1,289 to 2,746 square feet. While plans vary from one model to the next, these homes may include two to four bedrooms, separate dens, two or three full bathrooms, and an attached two- or two-and-a-half-car garage.

Legacy of Leesburg’s resale homes from earlier builders are similarly sized, with floor plans typically ranging from 1,013 to over 2,700 square feet. These varied designs may feature one to four bedrooms, one to three bathrooms and separate dens. Most homes also include an attached two-car garage, although some homes may have a one, two-and-a-half, or three-car garage.

Amenities

At the heart of the community, Legacy of Leesburg’s Clock Tower Hall offers a variety of social and recreational amenities. This spacious facility offers game rooms for cards and billiards, as well as studios for sewing, ceramics, and general arts and crafts. There are two catering kitchens and a large ballroom for community events. The facility also includes a well-equipped fitness center, an aerobics studio, locker rooms, a library, and a computer room.

Outdoors, the amenities continue with a resort-style swimming pool and spa area, an outdoor bar area and a variety of sports courts. Residents can enjoy friendly competition with two tennis courts, two pickleball courts, two bocce courts, horseshoe pits, and a softball field. The grounds also offer 275 acres of nature conservation, a lovely gazebo, a picnic area, walking and biking trails, RV and boat storage, and the inviting Legacy River Park.

In addition to its on-site amenities, Legacy of Leesburg offers a prime location in Lake County, Florida. It is within easy reach of nearby Ocala and just 45 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. The area features shopping centers, restaurants, and other local entertainment. It is also within 90 minutes of Orlando’s exciting theme parks, including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World.
