Builder Shea Homes has just received approval by the Brentwood, California city council for a zoning change for 10.89 acres in the Village Center project within the Vineyards at Marsh Creek development. The site was originally zoned for a mixed-use park that would have consisted of 350 apartment units and commercial and office spaces, but now has been changed to include 72 active adult attached homes and a one-acre park within the Barcelona Village that Shea Homes plans to develop.
Shea’s Barcelona Village will be located across from Miwok Avenue where the planned Los Medanos College expansion in Brentwood will break ground in the fall of 2018. Los Medanos College plans to offer continuing education courses to active adults as well as provide counseling services, a library, and computer labs. The 481-acre Vineyards at Marsh Creek, also known as Trilogy at the Vineyards, was first approved in 2004 and has since delivered 809 active adult homes out of the total 1,100 homes approved.
