However, we also like to take a look at the numbers month-to-month to see which communities are hot sellers at any given point throughout the year. Let's find out which active adult communities buyers were flocking to in February.

We took a look at every sale made through our website between February 1 and February 28, 2019, to determine our 10 best-selling active adult communities of the month. Just because it was a short month, that doesn’t mean we didn’t see plenty of sales. And what those sales told us is that these are some of the active adult communities you’ll want to consider when starting your own search.

1. On Top of the World - Ocala, FL

Below $100k - Mid $400s

What else is new, On Top of the World is on the top of the list once more. Considering it was one of our 55 Best 55+ Communities of 2018, it’s not too surprising. A big part of the appeal is that this Central Florida community offers so much without costing too much. In fact, this popular place has plenty of homes available for under $100K at any given time. And no matter which home you choose, you have access to great amenities across a wide variety of interests and passions.

2. Sun City Texas - Georgetown, TX

Low $200s - Low $1Ms

Sun City Texas remains the standout community in Texas and among the best in the country. Sprawling across 5,300 acres, this Del Webb community offers up 9,900 homes, 86,000 square feet of indoor amenities, and three 18-hole golf courses. It’s true that Sun City Texas is the largest active adult community in Texas, but it also might have the most to offer its residents in terms of lifestyle and things to do.

3. Sun City Hilton Head - Bluffton, SC

High $100s - Low $700s

Sun City Hilton Head topped our list of the 55 Best 55+ Communities of 2018 and it’s starting to make a case once more in 2019. Since 1995, SCHH has been one of the most highly acclaimed active adult communities in the country. It features sprawling grounds that include a 45-acre town center and amenity complex, multiple sports courts, and 54 holes of golf.

4. Sun City West, AZ

Below $100k - Low $600s

2.5 miles west of the original Sun City you’ll find Sun City West, a 16,900-home community that measures up to its neighbor and then some. The 55+ community includes a massive lineup of amenities that includes four recreation centers, nine golf courses, and nine restaurants. The R.H. Johnson Center, which spans 48 acres and includes six activity areas, is the largest activity center in Arizona.

5. Lake Providence - Mt Juliet, TN

Mid $200s - High $500s

Those looking to Tennessee for retirement seem to be looking closely at Lake Providence. Located in Mt. Juliet, just 17 miles from Downtown Nashville, the community offers residents a mild climate, recreational opportunities, easy access to Nashville's culture, and plenty of health care options. The 24,000 square-foot recreation center at the heart of the community also provides plenty to do without leaving.

6. SaddleBrooke - Tucson, AZ

High $100s - High $900s

Nestled at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains, SaddleBrooke is an age-restricted development built by Robson Communities. Unlike most active adult communities which are reserved for 55+ residents, this one welcomes homebuyers as young as 40. That likely plays a role in why it performs so well as it offers a golf-friendly lifestyle to a larger resident base.

7. Spruce Creek Country Club - Summerfield, FL

Mid $100s - Mid $400s

We’re not surprised to see Spruce Creek Country Club in Summerfield make the list. This 3,250-home community includes multiple amenity centers, 36 holes of golf, and nearly 100 clubs and interest groups. The homes here also come with generous lot sizes and a great low-maintenance lifestyle in a desirable location.

8. Del Webb Ponte Vedra - Ponte Vedra, FL

Mid $200s - Mid $500s

While we recently found out about a new Del Webb community within the Nocatee master-plan, Del Webb Ponte Vedra has been offering 55+ living here for quite some time. Buyers can’t get enough of Anastasia Club, a 37,800 square-foot clubhouse featuring state-of-the-art recreation areas and fitness centers. There are also 15 acres of outdoor amenities, including a resort-style pool with sun deck, outdoor spa, and multiple sports courts.

9. Four Seasons at The Lakes of Cane Bay - Summerville, SC

Low $200s - Mid $500s

It’s a pretty good time to get in on Four Seasons at The Lakes of Cane Bay. This gated community’s 20,000 square-foot lakefront clubhouse recently opened and includes indoor and outdoor pools and a fitness center. That joins various sports courts, boat ramps, a garden square, outdoor amphitheater, and miles of walking and biking trails as reasons to also consider buying here.

10. Robson Ranch Arizona - Eloy, AZ

High $100s - Low $400s

With 4,600 total homes and 16 different floor plans to choose from, it’s no wonder that buyers remain interested in Arizona’s Robson Ranch. That’s especially true when you factor in the various amenities and lifestyle opportunities available here. Your home also includes access to indoor and outdoor pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, 16 pickleball courts, 4 tennis courts, and the 18-hole Robson Ranch golf course.
