As the largest active adult community in Texas, Sun City Texas offers several multi-purpose hobby and craft studios, a 20,000-square-foot fitness center, multiple aerobics and dance studios, and an indoor lap pool and spa. Homeowners can also enjoy a billiards hall, a library, a computer lab, and a grand ballroom with a dance floor and stage.

Del Webb began this community in 1995. Upon completion, it will be home to 9,900 homes in a variety of housing styles and prices. Active adult homebuyers can select from single-family and attached duplex homes that range in size from 940 to more than 3,000 square feet. Many upgrades are available, including spa-like bathrooms, gourmet kitchens, and custom outdoor living space.

A reasonable homeowners’ association fee takes care of lawn care and exterior building maintenance, giving residents the freedom to travel and embrace a maintenance-free lifestyle.

Homeowners have many opportunities to meet neighbors and make new friends, whether they attend bridge club, casino night, or book club, or they drop in for wine and cheese night or dance classes. The community clubhouse contains a fully equipped kitchen, a big-screen TV, a computer and media room, and a 24-hour fitness center. Tuscan Village – Lakeway, TX

Homeowners can stay engaged through a variety of clubs and activities, including yoga, memoir-writing group, and cards. There’s always something engaging underway at the 9,000-square-foot clubhouse, which contains a fitness center, an aerobics and yoga studio, social rooms, and a multi-purpose room. Residents can also enjoy an on-site, 11,000-square-foot public library that hosts book discussions and guest speakers. Community amenities continue outdoors with walking and biking trails, pickleball, and bocce ball.

Tuscan Village at Horseshoe Bay – Horseshoe Bay, TX

A new 55+ community from Legend Communities, Tuscan Village at Horseshoe Bay will contain 304 single-family homes upon completion. The community is situated on the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course at Summit Rock.

Final plans haven’t been released yet, but active adult homebuyers looking to downsize can explore three distinct model collections including townhomes, single-family villas, and single-family golf estates. Townhomes range in size from 1,294 to 1,790 square feet, while the other models provide up to 4,400 square feet of living space. All homes feature energy-efficient designs with elegant touches such as tile roofs, masonry, and stone and stucco exteriors.

A proposed clubhouse in Tuscan Village at Horseshoe Bay will offer residents an exercise room, multi-purpose rooms, and a dance studio for homeowners to enjoy dancing lessons or yoga. Outdoors, residents can lounge at the pool and patio or get some exercise at the pickleball and bocce ball courts. This active adult community also contains a community garden, a faux vineyard, and walking trails.
