Downsizing can do wonders for your emotional and financial health. Learning to live with less means you have more space, more clarity, and a better grasp of what’s really important to you. If you’re thinking about a Florida retirement or a new way of living in the near future, Fort Myers is an excellent place to downsize into an affordable home that doesn’t make you sacrifice comfort or entertainment.

Fort Myers real estate comes with a number of benefits. It’s close to the beach, it’s near a lot of great golfing, and the warm and sunny days far outnumber the cold ones. There are some great 55+ communities that offer condos, attached villas, and amenities that will help you downsize into the next stage of your life.

Pine Ridge at Fort Myers

Below $100k - Mid $100s

Buyers can choose an attached villa, a condominium home, or a single-family home at Pine Ridge at Fort Myers, a gated 55+ community with an active and responsive HOA which handles lawn care and exterior maintenance. The annual HOA fee also includes water and sewer bills as well as basic cable.

Condo units are spread out among two and three-story buildings. They have between 960 and 1,400 square feet. These homes are two or three-bedroom properties with front yard space or balconies and hurricane shutters. The attached villas are slightly larger but still manageable. Their floor plans are between 1,000 and 1,468 square feet with two or three bedrooms, an attached one-car garage, and private entrances through a courtyard.

Amenities include a dock that looks out over a 20-acre lake, a clubhouse, a pool, and bocce ball and shuffleboard courts. There are also a lot of social activities in this community, such as potlucks, pool parties, movie nights, and chili cookoffs.

Pelican Preserve
