Moving comes with many upsides, from getting a home that better suits your current lifestyle to enjoying a community that offers amenities that appeal the most to you. Whether you want to downsize from your large family home, you want to live closer to your friends or family, or you want the benefits of living in a brand-new home that doesn’t require the repairs and maintenance of an older home, moving provides many perks.
If you’re like many active adult homebuyers, you’re specifically interested in new homes. By choosing a new home, you can often customize details, from adding an optional second floor or sunroom to selecting the color scheme and appliances. Moving to a new active adult community also allows you to create the kind of lifestyle you envision. Residents in new communities can lay the foundation for the community’s overall tone by starting their own social clubs, volunteer groups, sports tournaments, and more.
To guide your search for the country’s best 55+ communities with brand-new homes, we’ve compiled a list of the 10 best new communities in 2020. While these active lifestyle communities provide a great place to start your browsing, the communities below also deserve a look.
