Blue sky over Pine Creek Gorge in North Central Pennsylvania

Active adults looking for prime Central Pennsylvania real estate should check out these best-selling 55+ communities.

Pennsylvania covers 44,820 square feet, and although it has its big cities, there are plenty of wide-open spaces too. This is a good thing; while many active adults prefer to live near a metropolitan area like Gettysburg or Harrisburg, others are drawn to open fields, mountains, and valleys. The fact that Central Pennsylvania has both is a boon for active adults, and we’ve put together a list of the best-selling Central Pennsylvania 55+ communities from January 1, 2019 up to this moment.

Central PA includes the Susquehanna River Valley, The Lehigh Valley, and Gettysburg National Park. There are 30 active adult communities in Central Pennsylvania, and many have new or resale homes for sale. Some are in more rural areas, while others are closer to more populated areas. There are two major airports here, Harrisburg International and Lehigh International, and the area’s top hospitals include Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and PinnacleHealth. And let’s not forget those top colleges and universities that are spread throughout Central PA (Penn State and Lehigh University, to name a few).

We won’t make you wait any longer. Here are the top five best-sellers in Central Pennsylvania.
