The scenic lake and landscaping in the Province community in Maricopa, Arizona.

Province in Maricopa, Arizona leads our list of the state's best-selling communities in 2019.

Arizona remains as popular as ever as a retirement destination for active adults. There was a reason that Sun City, the first planned active adult community in the U.S., opened in Arizona. Now 60 years on, it remains one of the top ten best-selling Arizona communities.

Arizona’s warm climate is a big part of its attraction. With about 300 sunny days a year, people who enjoy playing golf, tennis, or pickleball can get more bang for their buck by being able to play nearly all year. Your money also goes further in Arizona than in other places, and the state has several tax advantages for retirees, like no inheritance tax.
