Every month at 55places, we analyze monthly sales data in order to see which communities sell the most homes at any given point throughout the year. With the spring season on the horizon, it’s time to see which active adult communities were top sellers in February.

After calculating sales made through 55places between February 1 and February 29, we determined which active adult communities sold the most homes last month. Please note that this number is drawn from sales made through the website and doesn't represent overall sales in any given community.

So, which active adult communities sold the most homes in February 2020? The ranking includes five popular communities in Florida as well as communities in Arizona, Texas, Nevada, South Carolina, and New Jersey. Keep reading to discover the best-selling communities of February.

1. On Top of the World - Ocala, FL

Below $100k - Low $400s

For the second month in a row, On Top of the World in Ocala is the best-selling active adult community on 55places. As the 2019 Community of the Year, this gated 55+ community continues to establish itself as one of the most popular and best-selling communities across the country as well as one of the largest with plans for 10,000 single-family and attached homes upon completion. 

The world-class amenities at On Top of the World support an abundance of hobbies, interests, and activities. The community boasts three 18-golf golf courses, several clubhouses, fitness centers, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, restaurants, and dozens of athletic courts for tennis, pickleball, and more. Although Sun City Hilton Head did not appear on last month’s best-selling list, this 50+ community rose through the ranks this month as one of the top-selling active adult communities in the country. Located in Bluffton, South Carolina, just 13 miles west of the world-famous Hilton Head Island, Sun City Hilton Head surrounds residents with world-class beaches and water recreation opportunities.

With plans for 8,200 single-family and attached homes upon completion, this gated Del Webb community offers an extensive lineup of amenities. Aside from the 45-acre town center and amenity complex, the luxury amenities include three 18-hole golf courses, four resort-style outdoor pools, a 17,000-square-foot social hall, a 540-seat performing arts center, several state-of-the-art fitness centers, and restaurants.

Renowned active adult home builder Del Webb has been constructing Sun City Texas since 1995 with plans for 9,900 single-family and attached homes total. One of the best-selling active adult communities in New Jersey is Holiday City at Berkeley, a well-established 55+ community with 10,636 single-family homes. The location in Ocean County in Southern New Jersey puts residents within 10 miles of the shore, providing access to entertainment, retail, and dining opportunities. 

The ranch-style single-family homes range from 757 to 1,852 square feet with one to three bedrooms, one or two bathrooms, and attached one- or two-car garages. As part of the award-winning master-planned Nocatee development, this Del Webb community is one of eight communities in the development, which are all connected via walking and biking trails.

With plans for 1,988 single-family, attached, and condominium homes, this age-restricted community offers Del Webb floor plans, its own private amenities, and a range of activities and events. The 37,800-square-foot Anastasia Club features amenities such as an indoor pool and spa, a learning lounge, a cafe, arts and crafts studios, and much more.
