Trilogy Announces Freedom Collection in 55+ Communities

Trilogy by Shea Homes has announced a new collection of homes that will be featured in their 55+ communities. Titled the Freedom Collection, the new floor plans are designed with the intention of maximizing every square foot of space within a home, allowing for more livability and function in smaller layouts.

Currently offered at Trilogy communities in Florida, North Carolina, and California, with more states to be added over time, the floor plans include eight home designs that range from 1,448 to 2,367 square feet.

Trilogy Lake Norman, a 55+ community in Denver, North Carolina, is the first community to feature the Freedom Collection.

The decision to create a new collection of homes was inspired in part by a recent survey conducted by Trilogy by Shea Homes. Surveying over 1,000 homeowners above the age of 50, 89 percent mentioned that they would prefer for their future homes to have an expanded great room while 83 percent indicated their desire for large secondary bedrooms. In terms of social activity, 70% of participants expressed their desire to stay social in their community.

Each plan in the collection was designed completely from scratch and visualized to include open concept living with expanded great rooms and kitchens. The objective in creating the collection was to deliver what is considered a more efficient floor plan while being at a price that allows for more homebuyers to enjoy a resort-style lifestyle. Prices for the Freedom Collection start in the low $300s.

Most floor plans feature three bedrooms, all of which can be utilized for other purposes as well, such as an office space, a hobby room, or a library. Select plans offer three bedrooms plus a den and two-and-a-half car garages, all being features that are not typically found in homes with this range of square footage.

In a statement, Jeff McQueen, President of Trilogy by Shea Homes outlined the perks of the new collection, saying “The Collection is Trilogy’s solution to delivering more functional, livable spaces within more efficient floor plans at attractive price points…Our objective is to make it easier than ever before to live a five-star worthy lifestyle.”

Billed as resort-style living, Trilogy communities are found throughout the country, with 14 communities in total as of September 2018. Each community was built to embrace the natural area surrounding each community and offers a variety of amenities and social excursions to partake in, including hiking, walking, and biking trails, sports courts, like pickleball and tennis, high-end fitness facilities, and resort-style pools.
