Opened in 2007, Vineyards on Lake Wylie is a beautiful community which is open to all ages, yet particularly appealing to active adults. Though the community has retained a rural atmosphere, with scenic beauty including 1.2 miles of Lake Wylie shoreline, it is located only 15 minutes from all the urban attractions in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Vineyards on Lake Wylie community features two distinct neighborhoods and one was designed specifically with active adults and retirees in mind. This neighborhood features smaller, ranch-style homes, while the more family-friendly neighborhood includes more two-story designs. In total, the community plans to one day include 430 single-family and attached homes.

Homes which are likely to appeal to active adults include those in the Kenwood Villas, Napa Cottages and Salinas Estates collections. These residences are thoughtfully designed with single-level living. Many include lawn maintenance as part of the homeowners’ association fees as well.

Additional two-story homes are offered in the more family-friendly neighborhood as part of the Calistoga and The Ridge at Calistoga collections. In the Kenwood Villas collection, homebuyers will find attached homes ranging in size from 1,820 to just over 2,000 square feet. These homes have three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, and two-car garages.

The largest floor plan also includes a separate den. Both the Napa Cottages and Salinas Estates collections feature one-story single-family homes. The Napa Cottages range in size from 1,356 to 2,087 square feet, while Salinas Estates offer layouts from 2,217 to 2,755 square feet. Most homes have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two-car garages.


When it comes to recreations, residents at Vineyards on Lake Wylie have access to many diverse amenities. The 7,000 square-foot Monterra Manor House is a clubhouse which features a health and fitness center, a business center and a grand ballroom. The clubhouse is a great place to mingle, make new friends and meet up for neighborhood groups like poker, bunco, and coupon clubs. Outdoor amenities are plentiful at Vineyards on Lake Wylie.

The resort-style pool features a large water slide, while the lap pool is a great place to exercise or practice water aerobics. The Sports Park provides recreations like tennis, bocce ball, pickleball, and sand volleyball, and resident pet owners will make good use of the dog parks. With a prime location on the the shores of Lake Wylie, the community offers many lakeside attractions as well. Residents often enjoy fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing. The grounds also feature a grand pavilion and over ten miles of scenic walking trails.

Though Vineyards on Lake Wylie is open to residents of all ages, this beautiful community will likely appeal to active adults who long for a scenic getaway as well as close proximity to urban attractions.
