Port St. Lucie is one of the most desirable places to live on the Treasure Coast, and Cascades at St. Lucie West is one of the more popular 55+ communities there. It’s in a master-planned community, complete with outstanding amenities, views of the water, and excellent trails and paths for biking and nature walks. There’s a nine-hole golf course as well as tennis, shuffleboard, and bocce ball courts. The outdoor pool includes a poolside bar, and inside the clubhouse, there are meeting rooms, a fitness center, card rooms, and a computer lab.
Resale single-family homes in reasonable price ranges are available in three collections. The beach is less than half an hour away, and the community is minutes from some of the best shops, restaurants, and galleries in Port St. Lucie.

Another great 55+ community in Port St. Lucie with an even better price point is Kings Isle. Here, buyers can find attached and single-family homes with open floor plans and upgraded features. Courtyard Homes are especially low-maintenance, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and attached one-car garages. They range from 969 to 1,216 square feet. Houses in the Manor Homes collection are a bit more spacious, with 1,173 to 2,088 square feet, two or three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and attached one- or two-car garages.
Water lovers will especially enjoy the private sandy beach area in the community. There’s also a pool with a patio, practice golf stalls, shuffleboard courts, and tennis courts. The Royal Club is a 15,000-square-foot clubhouse with a fitness center, an art studio, a ballroom, a billiards area, a card room, and a library. Residents get together frequently for performances, discussion groups, and bingo. Interstate 95 is minutes away, making travel to other parts of the state easy.

New and resale homes are available at Meadowood, a community without age restrictions in Fort Pierce. The most affordable properties are condos, which offer 1,417 to 2,026 square feet, two or three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. These homes have high ceilings, large master suites, and patios or balconies. The single-family homes are available in nearly 20 floor plans with 1,832 to 3,801 square feet, two to four bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and attached two-car garages.
Buyers looking for a golf community will enjoy the 18-hole championship course. Membership at the Meadowood Golf and Tennis Club is optional; it includes an annual fee, but it gives members access to amenities like the fitness center, social lounges, dining rooms, pools, and five clay tennis courts. The community is near the beach, and Fort Pierce, one of the oldest cities on the East Coast, is known for some interesting historical treasures, including the Navy Seal Museum.
High $100s - Mid $300s
Woodfield is a 55+ community that’s on the smaller side, with only 434 attached and single-family resale homes. However, it’s a great place for buyers looking for Treasure Coast homes for sale under $250,000.
Its intimate atmosphere allows neighbors to really get to know one another. Community events, activities, and clubs are popular at Woodfield. Residents engage with each other through coffee socials, parties, shows, exercise classes, and lunch clubs. There’s a welcoming committee, a book club, and a singles group. Amenities include a clubhouse, a fitness center, a pool, and tennis courts.
