Active adults looking to retire in Eastern Pennsylvania will find homes for sale under $300K in these communities.

There’s never been a better time to retire in Eastern Pennsylvania. With 125 flourishing active adult communities, active adult home seekers have their pick of location, floor plans, amenities, and price points in this region. If your budget is in the $300K range, you'll be pleased to see how much value you can get for your money when it comes to Eastern PA real estate.

The three main metropolitan areas here are Philadelphia, Reading, and Allentown. Though there are other large cities as well, the prevalence of farmlands, rolling hills, mountains, rivers, and parklands stands in contrast to these urban areas and offers welcome respites for active adults.

Allentown is part of the Lehigh Valley, which is known for its beautiful countryside and golf courses, among other things. Iron Lakes Country Club and The Golf Course at Glen Mills are two of the best. Eastern PA also has endless historical indoor and outdoor landmarks, since many Revolutionary War battles and other significant events took place here. Philly’s Fairmount Park and Allentown’s Liberty Bell Museum are two popular attractions that tourists are drawn to, and there are dozens more as well.

You'll find much to see and do here, but when it comes down to it, your home is where you'll spend most of your time. Careful thought and preparation is needed to find a retirement community that will best suit your needs, and these outstanding Eastern PA properties all have homes for around $300K.

The Woods doesn't have a community clubhouse, but its location is central to everything you might need. There are several fitness centers just minutes away, and outdoor recreation areas like Kerr Park and Sunnybrook Brook provide dog parks, disc golf, playgrounds, and tennis courts. Downingtown is also full of grocery stores, pharmacies, specialty shops, and veterinarians. Also, the closest hospital would be Brandywine Tower Health, which is just five miles away.
