It’s been called “SoJo” and “part of the Philadelphia Metro Area,” and it's home to the oldest resort community in the country (Cape May). Yes, we’re talking about South Jersey, and those who live here have a real sense of loyalty to the area (and also love the Eagles and Phillies).
This region is also known for its endless miles of beaches, shopping malls, and 55+ neighborhoods of all sizes. Another good thing about living here is that you can drive over one of the bridges into Philly for top-tier medical care at hospitals like Penn Presbyterian and Jefferson Health. And no matter what part of this region you live in, it shouldn’t take you more than 90 minutes to get to the seashore.
Southern New Jersey real estate can also be quite affordable compared to other parts of New Jersey, which is another reason why there are more than 130 retirement communities in this part of the state. Here are five with homes priced in the $250k range.
