    Willowbrook is a village and Chicagoland suburb, located in Dupage County, Illinois. Its prime location and tight knit community atmosphere have made it an attractive option for retirees. The town is also home to plenty of outdoor recreation opportunities and historic attractions. 

    Climate & Geography

    Willowbrook is situated in Northern Illinois, southwest of the city of Chicago. The climate type in this region is humid continental, meaning there are all four seasons with summers that are hot and humid, while winters can be snowy and cold to freezing. Residents can also expect slightly more rain than the national average. 

    Like most of Illinois, Willowbrook is built mostly on prairieland. The town is home to plenty of residential subdivisions and nature areas.

    Those looking for small town charm and tight-knit community can be sure to find that in Willowbrook. The town is home to many local antique shops, breweries, restaurants, as well as larger shopping centers such as The Promenade Bolingbrook and Oak Brook Center.  

    Willowbrook also offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation. These include, Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve, Timber Lake Park, and Salt Creek Forest Preserve. Each of these are ideal locations for hiking, biking, sightseeing, and even skiing in the winter. Another notable attraction is the Morton Arboretum, an outdoor museum and public garden.

    Not to mention, Willowbrook is in driving distance of the famous city of Chicago, where residents can find plenty more amenities and world-class attractions.

In its neighboring town, Maywood, residents can find Loyola University Medical Center which is nationally ranked in four adult specialties and rated high performing in five more adult specialties.
