Lago Vista Homes & Real Estate
Construction of Lago Vista began in 2004. The developer, Hartz Homes, designed five single-family floor plans and three townhome floor plan models. All single-family residences have one floor and offer between 1,500 to 2,196 square feet of living space. Many single-family homes have sunrooms, some of them have dens and basements are optional.
The attached models come in clusters of three or more and offer between 1,300 and 1,550 square feet of living space. The largest townhome model includes a den. All of the homes at Lago Vista in Lockport have a minimum of two bedrooms, two baths, and two-car garages.
The monthly homeowner's association dues are slightly higher for the attached homes because they include a roof fund, lawn watering and driveway seal coating. Both attached homes and single-family homes include lawn care, landscaping, snow removal and full access to the amenities in the monthly association fee.

Lago Vista
My wife and I just moved in. We downsized after 40+ years in Naperville. We have only been here a week, but the people are friendly, the entire community is great, and we have had little or no issues with the home. We cannot see how anyone could be unhappy living in Lago Vista. Believe me – we have lived in an area with a Homeowners Association and there were old cars in driveways, garbage cans out 24/7, and neighbors who cut their lawn only twice a year. Lago Vista looks like everyone cares about their homes and it shows. We hope to have many great years here.
Lago Vista is a very nice place to live. The residents are very friendly and welcoming and the clubhouse is extremely nice. The floor plans are very open and make the homes feel larger than they actually are. The resale homes may be a better option because of new construction upgrade costs.
Just Visiting hit the nail on the head as the construction of these homes (for the price) simply suck! That pretty much also goes for any upgrades you decide to get such as carpeting, appliances, "low E" windows, etc. We replaced all our windows within 3 years of moving in. Also plan on paying approx. $8,000-$9,000 in taxes on a $300K home and $100 monthly water bill. Bet you didn't see that coming! Is Lago a quiet, peaceful community, Yes! Is it worth the cost? You decide.
Barry, make sure you give us an update after you actually live here for a year.
I am not yet a resident but plan to visit this community in the next week for early 2016 residency. I cared for my wife at home for years as she fought Alzheimer's disease. I now must downsize dramatically from my 4000 sq. ft. home in Arlington Heights where I have been president of our Homeowners Association for 18-years. First of all the first reviewer should return to school, second he should learn how to properly evaluate a home, and thirdly he should learn proper respect for his elders and understand the true indifference of age.
Respectfully
Barry Craig
I have been a resident since 2006. I LOVE this community! The clubhouse is beautiful, and the community is quiet and peaceful. There is always something to do if you choose to join in, or enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of your own back yard!
