Residents of this 55+ community enjoy great resort-style amenities. The clubhouse is the main hub for all activity in the community. Here homeowners enjoy working out in the exercise room, conversing with neighbors in the clubhouse lounge, or playing cards in the card and game room. A grand ballroom with a catering kitchen is the perfect place to throw a party and can be rented out by residents.
Outdoors the amenities continue with an outdoor pool, a tennis court, and walking paths. You will often find residents bonding over a friendly matches of shuffleboard and lawn croquet, also located outdoors. A community transit takes residents on trips and tours throughout the area too.

Started in 1987 by Summerville Homes The Elms of Charleston currently was built out by Ryland Homes and contained 325 residences upon completion. All homes offer single-level living with master bedrooms on the first floor. The community was designed so that most homes are on cul-de-sac streets insuring low traffic in the community. Homes in the community were designed with active adults in mind and provide a low-maintenance lifestyle to residents.

The Elms of Charleston prides itself on providing an active and low-maintenance lifestyle to its residents. An annual homeowners' association fee covers the cost of general community maintenance as well as the exterior home care in the community which consists of lawn services and yearly power washing of all homes. This lifestyle allows residents to enjoy all the activities in the community. A full-time social director plans weekly clubs and activities open to all residents. Neighbors and friends enjoy one of the many card clubs, holiday parties or trips to local destinations.

Located in the northern part of Charleston County the area surrounding this community offers a myriad of dining, shopping, and entertainment. Just one mile from I-26, travel to other parts of South Carolina is made easy. Residents enjoy the close proximity to the coastal beaches and culture of downtown Charleston and regularly plan day trips with friends and neighbors.
