Renaissance at Raritan Valley is an active adult community in Franklin Township. With around 350 houses, it is a smaller, more intimate and private neighborhood. But the amenities are built to impress with a resort-like atmosphere and a beautiful clubhouse. Residences are comprised of a luxurious collection of carriage homes and town homes.
This gated community is different from other active adult settings because it allows for 15 percent of the homes to be occupied by adults as young as age 50. Renaissance at Raritan Valley also welcomes pets. Residents are very active in committees, leagues, and clubs and also volunteer at the clubhouse cafe.
Renaissance at Raritan Valley Amenities
The 15,775 square foot clubhouse includes many amenities typically only seen in larger active adult communities. Indoor activities and social areas include a ballroom, library, billiards, card room, arts and crafts studio, and meeting rooms. An exercise facility, complete with men’s and ladies’ locker rooms, and a 2,800 square foot indoor pool with spa and Jacuzzi are also part of the amenities in Renaissance at Raritan Valley. The Renaissance Cafe is solely run by the volunteers of the community where residents often gather for a relaxed cup of coffee or lunch.
Outside activities consist of tennis, bocce ball, and shuffleboard. Residents also have use of a large outdoor pool that includes tot pools. Grandchildren also enjoy the on-site playground.
Renaissance at Raritan Valley Homes & Real Estate
Centex completed the 108 condominiums (manor) homes and 236 single-family (carriage) homes between 2002 and 2009. Most of the homes at Renaissance at Raritan Valley have two bedrooms. The condo units range in size from 1,600 to 2,000 square feet and are divided among six 3-story buildings with elevators. The first levels contain one-car garages, while the actual units are on the second and third levels. Carriage homes in this 24-hour gated community have two-car garages and offer between 1,679 and 2,952 square feet of living space.
Renaissance at Raritan Valley Lifestyle
Renaissance at Raritan Valley in Franklin offers a resort-type lifestyle with an intimate atmosphere. At Renaissance there are three associations that work together in harmony to uphold this lifestyle and maintain the on-site amenities. Each inhabitant is part of the master association that is in charge of the clubhouse and the contiguous amenities. In addition, each homeowner also belongs to the Renaissance at Raritan Valley Homeowners’ Association or the Renaissance at Raritan Valley Condominium Owners Association, depending on their type of residence.
Residents regularly participate in committees, clubs, and leagues and are full of community spirit. The Renaissance Cafe is one example; it is fully maintained by volunteers from the community. A full-time activities director organizes the multitude of social clubs and special interest clubs.
Area
Renaissance at Raritan Valley is situated within minutes of Route 287 in Somerset County, New Jersey. Other highways in the area include Route 80, the New Jersey Turnpike, and Garden State Parkway. Public transportation in Somerset County mainly consists of NJ Transit rail service and Community Access Transit (CAT). There are four Transit rail stations in a ten minute radius that provide service to Newark Penn Station. CAT service offers transportation to the Bridgewater County Library, the Bridgewater Commons Mall, the Somerset Medical Center, and other local stops. This mode is available for seniors for a nominal fee. Nature lovers will enjoy hiking the nearby Appalachian Trail or taking a ride along the stunning Jersey Shore. Atlantic City, Philadelphia, and New York City make for exciting day trips.
