Ideally located between the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and the Everglades Wildlife Management Area, Kings Point in Tamarac offers active adults an opportunity to enjoy an affordable, fun-filled lifestyle in Broward County. The community is close to nature, beach activities, and plenty of shopping and dining. It’s also less than half an hour from Fort Lauderdale, on Florida’s southeastern coast.

Attached Homes and Condos

Buyers can choose between 4,869 low-maintenance condos, single-story villas, or the more spacious coach homes on two levels. The resale properties at Kings Point in Tamarac start below $100k and go into the mid $300s. You’ll have between one and three bedrooms in the villas and condos and up to four bedrooms in the coach homes. These homes were built between 1983 and 2001. The community is gated, and the condominium buildings have elevators and up to four floors.

Amenities and Lifestyle at Kings Point

The annual homeowners’ association fee paid by residents in Kings Point covers general community maintenance and the upkeep of amenities, such as the swimming pools and the fitness center. With two clubhouses, an indoor and outdoor pool, a card room, a ballroom, and a performing arts theater, there is always a gathering going on somewhere.

Other amenities include studios for aerobics and dance, ceramics, and art. There’s a media room, a billiards room, and five tennis courts. Residents enjoy the walking and biking trails around the property, and there’s even public transit available to and from the community for when you want to leave the car at home.

Socially-minded active adults can join any of the numerous clubs or learn something new in one of the classes provided in Kings Point. There’s bingo, aerobics, stretching, and scrabble. Join the culture club, the harmonica club, or the bowling team. Take classes in ceramics, investing, yoga, or table tennis. Some of the most popular activities are hosted by the snowbird club and the Kings Point Band.

Getting to Know Tamarac and Broward County

Tamarac is a small city on its own, but it’s also part of the Miami metropolitan area. If you like nature, be sure to visit the Everglades Wildlife Management area, which is not far at all. Active adults have a good chance of catching a glimpse of alligators, manatees, white-tailed deer, and hundreds of bird species. The endangered Florida panther is also known to make an appearance once in a while. Tamarac Village Park is under construction and will serve as the area’s downtown hub. Plans are to have it host art exhibits, live music, and craft fairs.

Hollywood Beach, Las Olas Beach, and Pompano Beach are all about half an hour away. There are dozens of championship golf courses in the area as well, including The Club at Emerald Hills and Jacaranda Golf Club. For food and drink, there are plenty of dining options in Tamarac and nearby cities, whether you want a casual burger or an elegant seafood dinner.

Fort Lauderdale is close to Kings Point, and other parts of Florida are also easy to access since the community is so close to the Florida Turnpike and the Sawgrass Expressway. For extended trips, head south to the Florida Keys or take the highway north to Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville.
