Getting to Know Tamarac and Broward County

Tamarac is a small city on its own, but it’s also part of the Miami metropolitan area. If you like nature, be sure to visit the Everglades Wildlife Management area, which is not far at all. Active adults have a good chance of catching a glimpse of alligators, manatees, white-tailed deer, and hundreds of bird species. The endangered Florida panther is also known to make an appearance once in a while. Tamarac Village Park is under construction and will serve as the area’s downtown hub. Plans are to have it host art exhibits, live music, and craft fairs.

Hollywood Beach, Las Olas Beach, and Pompano Beach are all about half an hour away. There are dozens of championship golf courses in the area as well, including The Club at Emerald Hills and Jacaranda Golf Club. For food and drink, there are plenty of dining options in Tamarac and nearby cities, whether you want a casual burger or an elegant seafood dinner.

Fort Lauderdale is close to Kings Point, and other parts of Florida are also easy to access since the community is so close to the Florida Turnpike and the Sawgrass Expressway. For extended trips, head south to the Florida Keys or take the highway north to Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville.
