Built between 1981 and 1982, Desert Highlands offers thoughtfully designed attached and condo homes. Many of the homes in this community are inspired by mid-century style and feature tile-roofing and various sizes of living spaces. Each home also has its own private spa, supplied by the mineral well, giving homeowners an opportunity to relax within their home. 

Other standard features include a fireplace, split levels, cathedral ceilings, atriums, and private patios and balconies with views of the mountains and surrounding Palm Springs.

Surrounding Area 

Desert Highlands is located at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains, giving residents the opportunity to explore the scenic surroundings as well as be within reach of daily necessities. 

When it comes to grocery shopping, Vons and Super 1 Foods are less than one mile away. Pharmacy needs can be met at Rite Aid and Hot Springs Pharmacy, also under a mile away. Desert Hot Springs is also close to health care providers such as Desert Regional Medical Center, which is just about ten miles away.

A local favorite, Le Vallauris, features French-Mediterranean dining with a romantic patio and gourmet fare. Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort features two courses, a 50 stall grass driving range, chipping green, and two large putting greens.

Outdoor enthusiasts can easily enjoy several hiking opportunities. Big Morongo Canyon Preserve, features 31,000 acres of native plants and wildlife preserve located in the Little San Bernardino Mountains of the Transverse Ranges, while Mission Creek Preserve provides 4,760 acres lush wetlands, eroded painted hills, and deserts housing a variety of wildlife. 

A day of retail therapy can be experienced along North Palm Canyon Drive for salons and spas, boutiques and high-end retailers, and a myriad of eateries. For cultural enthusiasts, Cabot’s Pueblo Museum features a large, Hopi-style pueblo containing artworks, artifacts of Native Americans cultures, and memorabilia of early desert homesteader life.

Desert Hot Springs is also conveniently located to several major cities for endless urban amenities. Those who want to explore metropolitan areas can travel 46 miles to San Bernardino, 94 miles to San Diego, and 100 miles to Los Angeles. When it comes to long-distance travel, Palm Springs International Airport is just under 12 miles away.
