Shady Oaks is a well-established 55+ community located in Red Bank, New Jersey. Built by K. Hovnanian from 1982 to 1983, there are 366 condos and townhouses that make up this gated neighborhood. Home are available on a resale basis only and are priced from the mid-$100s to mid-$200s.

Condos and Townhomes

Condominium units range in size from 1,032 to 1,147 square feet. Homebuyers interested in Shady Oaks’ condos can choose from one or two bedroom units and one to two baths. Other features include hardwood floors, an eat-in kitchen and walk-in closets – all in an open floor design. Residents also enjoy convenient assigned parking in front of their unit.

The townhomes at Shady Oaks range from 1,147 to 1,386 square feet. Each home has two bedrooms, two baths and either a one-car garage or assigned parking space accessibly located in front of the unit. The townhouses also have an eat-in kitchen, hardwood floors and roomy walk-in closets. All residents can enjoy the amenities and benefits of belonging to Shady Oaks’ homeowners’ association (HOA). Paid on a quarterly basis, the HOA fee covers the common areas, exterior maintenance, lawn care, snow removal and trash pickup, freeing up time to enjoy the relaxing activities the community has to offer.

Amenities

Speaking of activities, socialization is a central part of Shady Oaks living. With a clubhouse that includes a hobby and game room, neighbors can gather and enjoy a friendly game of billiards or meet for a game of cards. The clubhouse space is perfect for spur-of-the-moment events or planned activities. Residents can also use the meeting room to have a more organized get-together or enjoy a good book in the community library.

In terms of outdoor amenities, Shady Oaks offers a seasonal pool and patio to enjoy during the summer months.

Other recreational activities include two tennis courts and two shuffleboard courts. Residents can enjoy their daily walk, jog or bike ride on the property’s walking and biking trail. There is also a nice picnic area for residents to meet and socialize.

Local Attractions

Located only a few miles from downtown Red Bank, residents are not isolated from all the happenings going on in the town’s center. Enjoy the theaters, cafes, restaurants, spas and boutique shops. Take in a concert, play or other live performance.

For the golf enthusiast, there are also several golf courses in the immediate vicinity of Shady Oaks. Shady Oaks’ northern New Jersey location also means easy access to New York City and Newark Liberty International Airport. Beach lovers will love the easy access to Jersey shore points – just 15 minutes to Monmouth Beach and Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park, and just 30 minutes to Asbury Park. Additionally, Red Bank is just a few miles from the Garden State Parkway – a highway that will get you to most anywhere you want to go.

Shady Oaks is a great location for active adults who want to live in an age-restricted community but don’t necessarily want to relocate out of the northeast.
