Tampa Bay Golf and Country ClubSan Antonio, FL

Mid $100s – Mid $300s

Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club is a gated 55+ community in San Antonio, just north of Tampa on Interstate 75. Memberships to the country club are available at several golf and social levels, or residents can pay as they play. Amenities in this engaging and neighborly community include pools, volleyball courts, tennis courts, a restaurant, a fitness center, and a library. Also, golfers enjoy teeing off on the 27-hole course. Activities like yoga classes, card games, and coffee socials are frequently held in the 15,000-square-foot clubhouse.

Several builders have contributed homes to Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club, and most resale homes in this community are at or beneath the $300k price range. Several new construction single-family homes can be found at one of Tampa’s most exciting 55+ communities in Land O’Lakes. Del Webb Bexley has an on-site lifestyle director who manages events and activities like educational seminars, tennis tournaments, and fitness classes.

The amenity center will include a large clubhouse with a fitness center, a pool, and courts for tennis, pickleball, and bocce ball. A community garden will be available once construction is complete, and residents will be able to enjoy the grand ballroom, billiards room, and all the outdoor lakes, walking trails, and bike paths.

Buyers can tour six models at Del Webb Bexley. The Garden Series and the Classic Series are most likely to offer homes under $300k. They have 12 floor plans with two to five bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and attached two-car garages. Some homes have extra garage space for golf cart parking or storage. Land O’Lakes is close to Downtown Tampa as well as the beach, great shopping, and beautiful parks and nature preserves.

Waterfront condo living can be found for less than $300k at Bay Island, a 55+ community on the other side of the Tampa Bay, close to St. Petersburg and Clearwater. Holiday parties, community events, and fitness classes are frequently held at Bay Island.

Also, South Pasadena is close to popular beaches like Treasure Island and Sunset Beach. John’s Pass, with all of its shopping and dining opportunities, is just a short drive away.

Encore at Fishhawk RanchLithia, FL

For an intimate 55+ community with new and resale single-family homes, buyers may want to consider Encore at Fishhawk Ranch in Lithia. There are only 240 homes in this gated community, and residents are quick to become friends with their neighbors. Wine tastings, holiday parties, cooking demonstrations, and pool parties are frequently held.

More than 15 models are available with 1,594 to 2,721 square feet, two bedrooms, and two or two-and-a-half bathrooms. All floor plans also have a den and an attached two-car garage.

Encore is part of the Fishhawk Ranch master-planned community. The 55+ neighborhood has its own set of private amenities, including the Oasis Lifestyle Club, a fitness center, an entertainment room, a fire pit, and pickleball courts. Residents can also use the pools, patios, and multi-purpose rooms at the larger community center. Lithia is half an hour from Tampa and close to grocery stores, the Brandon Mall, and Lithia Springs Conservation Park.

New Port Richey is growing in popularity as a Florida retirement destination, and 55+ communities like Timber Greens offer lots of space and tons of amenities, with most resale homes falling in the $225,000 to $280,000 range.

Just outside of Tampa and close to the water, this community offers golf course living and resort-style features without the heavy price tag. Timber Greens has a clubhouse, a fitness center, an 18-hole golf course, a restaurant, and tennis courts. There’s also a great room, a card room, and a library.
